And wouldn't it be more interesting to do an I'M NOT THERE take on Judy than someone like Hathaway doing caricature posturing for an Oscar for two hours? I love Hathaway, but I just don't think she has it in her to do Judy beyond 1945... few do... but, damn, if Judy Davis didn't!
Just release a complete version of ME & MY SHADOWS on dvd already (the "Special Edition" VHS is the only complete version bizarrely) and do something innovative if you have to make a movie.

The DVD contains an amazing audio commentary with Lorna Luft and the film's producers as well as a featurette on the making of the movie.

The telecast contained a number of shots and alternate scenes that were never on either the vhs or dvd release, most generally quite negligible though so its no use seeking such things out really.
The Special Edition VHS contains about 10 minutes of footage not on any other version of the film on record, including the DVD. This was sold ONLY at the ABC store in NYC for a few months. A few years later came the DVD. The DVD is missing, among other things: the scene where Judy walks in on her 3rd husband with the pool boy, more Liza and Judy on stage in London, and the "boo-ed" drugged-out Australia performance and the border police withdrawl freakout (part of which is included as a "Deleted Scene" even though it was only deleted from the VHS, not the original telecast).
Over on IMDB there is a comprehensive list of most of what was cut out/changed/recut.

This is a complete fabrication. Not a word of that is true.
Posted: 7/24/09 at 4:41pm
I have the PROOF. You do not, apparently.
Don't talk about things you know nothing about.
I didn't believe it either UNTIL I got the proof.
Talking out of one's ass is so much easier though!

You're lying through your rotted teeth about Lorna.
You have no proof. You just have your fabrications.
Posted: 7/24/09 at 5:22pm
I'm not saying I KNOW why they were cut, but you, APPARENTLY, KNOW they wereN'T cut for that reason.
No, the scene with the naked poolboy was cut FOR TIME.
The scene with Judy telling Vincente she can't continue in their sham of a marriage was cut FOR TIME.
The scene with Judy making excuses for almost jumping out the window to escape the hotel bill because she was broke was cut FOR TIME.
I wish YOU were cut for time. Or just cut.

So now you are admitting that you just made up Lorna's involvement in the cuts?
Shame on you.
What was your motive? Pure malice? Or did it just make a "juicier" scandal?
Posted: 7/24/09 at 5:42pm
MALICE is your game, lover.
BEST-ALWAYS-
P
P.S. The cuts speak for themselves, neither Lorna nor anyone else, including me, need lay any further claim as to their relative merits. NEXT!
