A poster on the whatsonstage forums is claiming that king king is going to the Foxwoods theatre, he often comes out with rumours, but is right quite often (has been known to get it wrong as well though of course) has anyone here got any confirmation of this?

What's so "big" about the show? Besides the puppet? Does it need a ton of space? I think it'd look great in the St. James. With that old Hollywood glamour and whatnot.
But you most likely won't hear anything "official" until Spiderman announces a closing.
I think hhe Broadway Theatre would be great as it was a cinema at one stage and with its Deco facade, as was The Regent where it is playing in Melbourne
I'm not sure the Spider-Man producers would give up so easily. There's too much money invested in it. They haven't even tried stunt casting it yet.
This seems like a good fit for the Marquis.
The show was a pretty large false proscenium...
The Foxwoods has the most seats, so they probably want it for that reason, in addition to the fact that it's huge.

In a word, yes, if they want to ever get the puppet off stage. I had heard that they had looked at the Broadway, but I'm guessing most of the older houses just don't have the wing space to accommodate that puppet.

Kong sleeps in the fly.
Show was built with the Broadway Theatre in mind.
Foxwoods could be well possible, seeing as Spider-Man is going through a rough spell. Last I was aware, Bono and The Edge were still working on additions/ substitutions for the score. Not sure if it will just affect the later productions (arena, vegas, ect.) but they might revamp in New York.
Kong would be absolutely marvelous to see in The Broadway. Quite an imposing house, as too is the beast!

They only have to fall below their nut -- the figure agreed to with the owners of the theater. The standard agreement is falling below that pre-determined for any two weeks and they can be 'kicked out'.
My understanding is that they don't have to be consecutive weeks, and once its on the books that two have fallen below...the eviction can happen at any time. Lately, Spidey does NOT appear to have met its nut.

I am predicting them to close by the end of the year.

At the finish of the court debacle, producers claimed they were in the process to bring their operating costs to below $1,000,000. If they have, than Spider-Man has not fallen below one million.
They fell below one million three or four times during 2011-2012, yet still seem able to pay rent.
They could actually be making a hundred thousand or so above nut the past few months.

I don't see Spiderman staying open another year. King Kong might get their wish.
Eh. I could see it staying open. It's not like it's doing poor business by any means.
And they can always stunt cast some boy band guy into Spiderman.

ATG are keen for a new big show and I would suspect a name change. Too bad Ambassadors is already taken!

^^^ agree, with the sale of the Foxwood coming up. They may want a new more exciting tenant.

I wouldn't be surprised if it reverted to the Lyric although I think Apollo Lyric or Lyric Apollo would be more suited in honour of the theatres that were formerly on the site of the Foxwoods.

If it's not meeting it's weekly operating costs, then by definition, it is doing poor business. I don't know what their target is for Gross Potential, but I doubt it's in the 50s.
