I've heard a lot of people with your opinion Colleen_Lee, but I've always thought that the musical
would lend itself to film very well. I'm not talking about the quality of the work itself, I'm just saying that I think the material would transfer well to film.
And maybe Elphaba could actually
fly on her broom onscreen, rather than just being hoisted straight up.
I think the film could be a success. It's certainly one of those shows that everyone seems to have seen, including a whole slew of non-theatre people. Of course, the same could be said for
Phantom and that movie tanked. I think it's chance of success probably hinge on getting it out there some time in the near future. By the time the
Phantom movie came out, I think the general population was over it.
