"Oh look at the time, three more intelligent plays just closed and THE ADDAMS FAMILY made another million dollars" -Jackie Hoffman, Broadway.com Audience Awards
Let me say, I heard this news and felt like I got hit by a bus. It was such a shock but I am happy for Krysta. Her replacement is going to be hard to find.
LOL. That is one of the funniest things that I have read on this board in a long time. There are going to be TONS of Wendla's in the next years doing national tours and such. You are saying that it is going to be hard to find a replacement for an UNDERSTUDY? I could understand you saying that for like Christine Ebersole in Grey Gardens, but for this?! HA!

Krysta swings all of the girls roles and has gone on for each. She is very versatile and has gotten much praise for each role she goes on as. It will be hard to find someone who can swing all the girls roles and fit them performance wise.
I don't think it will be hard to find someone to play her part. There are other swings on Broadway who cover a lot of roles, and they are replaced. I don't see why Krysta's role is harder to cast.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
But saying she will be hard to replace has nothing to do with your opinion of her.

She obviously meant that it was going to be hard to replace her talent, and what she brings to the role. Krysta is very talented, imo, the most talented actress in the cast.
Meh, replace her with Yassmin Alers. Now there was a swing that was hard to replace. When Krista covers all the male AND female roles, then get back to me.
Speaking of which, remind me to make new threads every time an ensemble member leaves. I'm sure the rest of BWW won't mind in the least bit at the near-daily occurrence.

I like Krysta just fine, but if she is really that much better why wasn't she cast in one of the roles instead of just being an understudy? That seems like strange logic to me.

Damn, I can't say anything without it being commented and nitpicked at. If anyone else had said that comment had been made by someone else no one would have said anything.
