Cabaret Casting Rumor: Orville Peck & Eva Noblezada Jun 27
2025, 12:52:12 AM
Saw this a few weeks ago after having seen it in London with Maude Apatow & Mason Alexander Park. I liked it but with Orville & Eva I finally saw the brilliance of the production. Orville in particular blew me away.

I’m seeing on Twitter that Bernadette was out tonight. Sounds like Beth Leavel sang “Send in the Clowns” and “Losing My Mind”. Would love to see the updated song listing if anyone was there!

I've heard this is where Cats is going."
I hope they keep some version of the current configuration.

It’s primarily the revivals for me. Beautiful new recordings of MERRILY, INTO THE WOODS, and PARADE.

DEATH BECOMES HER Reviews Jun 11
2025, 06:41:29 PM
Natalie Charle Ellis posted that she had a Madeline put-in the other day, so it makes sense given Hilty being out for an extended period of time and some of Simard’s absences that they would want to have all three covers ready.

Jamie Lloyd’s EVITA on Broadway Jun 10

ALW didn’t want CATS & SUNSET in the same season, so I imagine EVITA wouldn’t transfer until Fall 2026.

The 78th Annual TONY Awards Performances! Jun 9
2025, 12:42:07 AM
The tempos were inexcusable. Both Audra and Megan Hilty seemed to not be able to hear the orchestra racing along. It ruined what would’ve been excellent performances.

Happy that after all of the hand-wringing Nicole rightfully won. Audra is incredible always but Nicole remained the performance of the season.

Patti speaks pretty highly of Audra in her memoir, so this fall out happened sometime after 2011.

Lady Gaga One Award Away From EGOT Status May 22

I think it’s far more likely that writes an original score. I could also see her doing something like Springsteen and the committee giving her a trophy.

2025 Drama League - Shocking Omission Francis Jue May 16

I know this award doesn’t have crossover and Audra wasn’t eligible, but Nicole winning just makes more sense at this point. Sunset is winning Revival and is competitive in Actor and Director. Audra feels like Gypsy’s sole chance for a win.

Would be a silly move to not have Sadie Sink in Lead as it then moves the category to five nominees, and all but guarantees a nomination there for her.

Tony Predictions, Best Revival Play (2025) Apr 23
2025, 11:48:25 PM
JudyDenmark said: "Is there any slim chance world where John Proctor is the Villain is deemed a revival by the eligibility committee?"
Highly doubt it. There has never been a New York production. If Between Riverside and Crazy was considered a new play (one that had an off-Broadway premiere and a much bigger regional life than John Proctor) I would be shocked if this was deemed a revival.

FLOYD COLLINS Reviews Apr 21
2025, 10:09:39 PM
It’s so interesting to me that Landau pretty impressively staged a show with a truly terrible score (REDWOOD) but seemingly fumbled the staging of a show with a remarkable score (FLOYD COLLINS).

Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 4/13/25 Apr 17
2025, 05:40:24 PM
I think the Redwood issue is really just word of mouth on the show itself. I’ve seen anything Idina has done in New York post-Wicked and immediately bought a ticket for Redwood, but I find it hard to recommend to anyone who isn’t a die hard fan. She’s incredible in it and the visuals are stunning, but the score is just *so* bad.
