That's riDICulous. If anybody deserves to be at the closing, it's you guys. Cathy, you have GOT to be at the closing. Nothing is impossible. Yes is the ONLY answer.

Laugh if you must Cathy but you should totally be there. You MUST blow off whatever else is so "important." And GO.

oh believe me. i am not laughing. this isn't funny. this is the most serious situation that i've ever been in. i've decided to pack up my entire life and move to the broadhurst. that's where i'm meant to be. i'll see every last show because i have so much time and money.
i'm so glad this is the decision i'm making. it's the best one i've made in a long time. right after giving namo the time of day.

I didn't ask for the time of day. Like many people, I have a perfectly functioning little clock on my computer screen right down there.
But seriously, you HAVE to be at the last show. I understand the cast has a little something planned for the people who have been so supportive and who has been more supportive than thee?
And, on another serious note, has the cast made any statements to the press since the closing notice? I am particularly interested in what Julie had to say, since she is my new goddess.

I am always serious.
I'm looking forward to Julie telling us that Lennon, like John, was taken from us far too soon, but that the word peace still exists. And then I expect her to poignantly say, "Peace. Out."

Ugh...this sucks. Does anyone know if it's official that the CD will not be released now? (I remember reading that it was planned for a Dec release.)

I wish they would release a Lennon OBC recording so I could play it backwards.
Do they do "Revolution #9" in the show?
"...if you... if you... if you become naked.... Number Nine... Number Nine... Number Nine..."

I think Helter Skelter is awesome and I HATE Paul McCartney songs, generally. I LOVE the low-tuned guitar.
However, for Lennon White Album songs, Happiness is a Warm Gun touches me in my special no no place.

"Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" is also a delight. I'm glad those words still exist today.

just as happy as julie is that peace is a word that still exists today.

I dunno. I can't speak for Julie, but I'm pretty happy about it. Not as happy as I am at a Liz Phair concert, but happier than I am when I can find a full-sized Krackel BarTM at gas station.
Though, that does make me pretty happy. Usually I only find them in the bags of Hershey's MiniaturesTM.

dude. i know exactly what you mean. you feel like you've hit gold if you track down the full sized Krackel Bar. you know it's gonna be a good day when that happens...unless lennon happens to be closing. then it's a sad day.

Yeah, but do you realize how many full size KrackelTM bars I could get for the price of a Lennon ticket?
And I can eat them naked. I can't go to Lennon naked. Perhaps if a deal could be struck- like they'd give me a box of KrackelTM bars and I could go naked, I'd go.

Wow i just came back from this show...well not just considering its now 2 am...but I did see it this evening...anyhow, i can totally see why it misfired. For someone who knows nothing about lennon's life other than a couple of his songs, that he was married to a yoko ono, and was a peace activist, the first 15-20 minutes were like one thing after another thrown at you that it almost made your head spin. It was also REALLY REALLY REALLY tough to understand what the heck the actors were saying much of the show (let alone singing)....in addition, if the whole show could have been as compelling as the last 5-10 minutes or the brilliant bits such as "Woman is the n* of the World" or Give peace a chance....i think this really could have worked...its such a shame...oh and the show could have totally done without the TERRIBLE staging/choreography...it looked like a show choir or something. I did walk out singing a few tunes, and having a bit more of an appreciation for the man that lennon was....loved the use of the clip at the end...very cute
