I gave Lennon a chance despite some of the negative reviews from BWW users and the NYT, and I LOVED Lennon. I promise I will go back a second time before this show closes.
Put others' negative opinions aside and give Lennon a chance!!!
well... I am upset that Lennon posted a closing notice (not really surprised, but still upset). I love this show. When I read about the closing I went right to the theatre and saw the show Thursday night. I will definitely be back a few times this week and will be at closing. I am sad for the cast and hope that we will be seeing them all back on the boards soon in other shows (since they are all super talented). I wish there was going to be a recording, but I guess that's not meant to be.
Looks like there's more hope for a cast recording, maybe:

so did you see lennon last night ponine?
how was it?
anyone else going this week?
p.s. is it true marcy won't be in the last show?
i don't know if the marci rumor is true...but i hope she is there for the final performance...because she was out the first time i saw the show...
cathy-
I'm going to the closing performance -wish you could be there. How were the shows you saw last weekend?
they were amazing. i had such a great experience. the whole cast recognizes my friends and I. it's great. I told them it was my last time seeing it, they were all like...awww. it was really great, but sad at the same time.
tell me about the closing! have a great time! i'm sure you will.

Marcy is definitely out of the last show. Her final performance with the cast is Thursday night. I have to be there one last time to see the whole cast together!
wish i could go! yet again.
well, tell me how her final performance is! and if she does anything extra special! ...though, i don't know how much of a better performance she can give...the girl is amazing.
Cathy Im sure you said it already but which performances did you go to last weekend?
i went to saturday matinee and saturday night.
were you there?
did you stage door both times? no wonder the cast recognizes you!
haha. well actually it was the 4th time i saw it, and when you sit in the front row everytime...they're bound to recognize you. also, i was with my friend who had seen it more times than me.
no i didn't stage door both times, only at night. we didn't want to seem like crazy stalker people! we just love the show and it's performers. they're all so kind. will's wife and daughters were with him! they were sooo adorable.
I was there at night, annnnnd you totally talked to me and my friend or someone you were with did. Because we definitely were in the front row next to people who told us they'd been to both performances that day.

The cast is so great with knowing their fans.
Or maybe that's because I've seen it 9 times?
whoa! no way bythesword! i vaguely remember that. i can't put you into perspective though...

I'm tired of people attacking the choreography in LENNON. Just so you know...the choreography they use is a pretty good representation of some of the types of dancing done in the 70's.
Besides, choreography is not only dance steps, but all of the movement done on the stage, including the Dickie Smothers' silent movement of Chad out of the club and every other type of movement used for the show. The stage is huge, but if you stand on it yourself, you could see that the area in which most of the actual dancing is done is quite limited, requiring a lot of precision movement on the parts of the actors. Many hours of rehearsal make it look easy and effortless.
All choreography doesn't have to entail frog jumping over your partner or similar things, the like of which is done in a lot of traditional musicals where it is warranted. Sometimes that type of dancing is just inappropriate for a show.
exactly mnil!!! i totally agree. this isn't supposed to be a "dance show". but, the dancing that there is, and the movement, is well done.
thank you for your enthusiasm!

Cathy I'm not really good at keeping notes but I'll try to come back with details of tomorrow night's show. Hope to see more Lennonheads (Lennonites) tomorrow night too. Damn shame a wonderful show is closing, the cast seems so in sync with each other.
grrrrr. i wish it wasn't closing!! waaaaah!
that's ok showbiz. any comment about the show will be fine. i don't need details, i know the show pretty well i'd say. but if anything happens that you're just screaming to talk about...go right ahead and post it here!
You don't have to, you didn't talk to me, you actually talked to Andyf who was with me.

Oh no Cathy, I know you're real familiar with Lennon. Still trying to get into the city tonight to make the 8pm show if I can.
Does anyone here feel like they're killing Lennon twice? And where the hell is the cast CD? Ok, enough griping, I'm going to enjoy the few performances that are left.

You're welcome, Cathy!
The enthusiasm is very hard to suppress when the show and talent are so magnificent.
i do feel like lennon is dying again! and taking with him all that he stands for...peace, love...power to the people.
it's really depressing. i wish they could have kept it alive a little longer.
i want a cd more than anything. i've been listening to my old lennon cds, but it's not the same cause there's no mandy, marcy, julia, and everyone else. if they make a cd, i will be so ecstatic.
dude, bythesword, who did i talk to and when? it's bothering me that i can't remember. my friends and i were the first three in the front row on the left side. i remember telling someone at bway on bway that i went to both shows...and i might remember talking to someone saturday night...but like, my mind is drawing a blank. help me out here.
