WHAT is the point of this?
You do realize this is based on Aristophane's Lysistrata, yes? While still a comedy...it's a bit more than just a fun, upbeat musical.

Wait, you're saying this ISN'T a musical adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's "The Road"?
Shame. They should really get on an adaptation, then.

Overheard during intermission at the Metropolitan Opera the other night:
"My son and daughter-in-law are seeing a new show called LISTERINE JONES. I can'w wait to hear what they think about it!"

Posted: 12/12/11 at 8:41pmI saw it for free (along with about 90% of the audience every night since it started previews) and I still hated it. It's offensively bad. There's a difference between "so bad it's good" and "so bad it's actually just bad." The whole "amateur writing for the sake of a laugh" concept just comes off as laziness. And it isn't even funny!

Posted: 12/13/11 at 1:28amIt saddens me there are so many great writers writing great musicals, and yet these guys somehow lucked out and got on Broadway? And not really even with a fresh idea.
