Hi. I was wondering if in the Las Vegas Phantom, if Christine still sings the E at the end of the title song? Thanks

It's prerecorded, when I saw it in August of last year.
Okay, but is it still the E?

Yes, if I remember correctly.
Thanks
It's "cheating" that's been going on for 20 years, FWIW.

Wow I knew parts were pre recorded but not the WHOLE title song--though I knew the use of doubles. For some reason it kinda bugs me that it ALL is pre-recorded--but doesn't bug me that other parts (or even parts of that song) are as I think it all adds to the theatrical effect instead of taking away from it--Hal Prince was one of the first to use pre-recorded bits (ie the chorus work for parts of the 1971 Follies--some hysterical stories about synchign the recording up properly)
E
Usually though it isnt the whole song, the last verse is usually live, but sometimes they do pre-record the last E
Somewhere exists a recording of Lisa Vroman completely destroying the high E at the end of the Title Song out on tour, so that had to be live. I find that confusing because I know it's always recorded. At any rate, I guess that means it's been done live at least once...
That was in San Francisco, and if you look at the link I posted, it apparently was done live at least once in SF. Some people think the recording might have not worked and Lisa at the last minute realized she'd have to (try to) hit it live.

So, wait, do the actresses playing Christine have to even sing it? Is it digitally bumped up if it's not in their range?
dont forget different productions do different things. and i am sure if the actress playing Christine feels comfortable doing it every time, im sure they will let her.

Do different things how? I've heard each production is identical, except for one in Europe somewhere.
Although, if the actress could do it, I am sure they'd let her. They let Dale Kristien perform without having a Christine alternate.
Does anyone know if when they record the notes, they record them in different parts? So, they record the first 4 notes, and then later the last 4?
What i mean is different productions do that song differently, some record the whole thing, some just the first 2 verses, some the first 3, i guess it depends on the production management and all that.
Another thing. At the end of phantom when she starts all of her high notes? Do they record those in pieces? And do they sometimes digitally enhance the E? Thanks
From my understanding, the E is recording from the current actress playing Christina actually singing it, I don't believe it's digitally enhanced.
Sometimes Christine's do have to (or want to) sing the high E live. But if it's something they're not comfortable with doing 5 to 6 times a week, they'll record it.
Well as for "digital enhancing", I have also heard that some Christines sing an Eb and they speed up the tape so that it becomes an E.
