aww, I thought the arrow bit at the curtain call was pretty brilliant! In fact they should have them all shot or something.

And I like a good audience interaction, so that sucks.

Has anyone seen this show form the mezz? How is the view? I wonder if the show is swallowed up by the theater and all the lights. It's not a very big playing space.

I was in the second to the last row in the center last night. It played fine up there. Maybe I would have been more engaged though if I had been in the orchestra.

I saw the show last Sunday (9/26) as well as the following Monday (10/4). There were very few changes, but from what I remember:

-Kate doesn't get shot during the curtain call
-During the rally scene (VOTE FOR EMOCRACY) Kate has a new joke about teabagging when she flirts with Jackson
-"Ten Little Indians" has a few lyric changes

And I asked Ben about why he didn't go into the audience during the Monday show, and it was because he had hurt his ankle during an earlier performance. Jackson jumping into the audience is going to be back in the show.

Glad to see that Ben will be back to gyrating against audience members soon. Latest preview changes in BBAJ?

I have to say: when I saw the show when it was at the Public, I saw it after the extension, when Ben Steinfeld had been replaced by James Barry. And my friend (whom I saw both performances with) and I both agree that Barry was leaps and bounds better than Steinfeld. Did anyone else see both actors play the Monroe track? I know that Steinfeld has been with the show for a long time, but I found him not quite as attuned to the style of the show as Barry.

The arrow in the curtain call was very funny, and I enjoyed his lap dance. I laughed throughout, but did note how mean spirited the intended laughs were, which still did not detract from my enjoyment of this piece. I'd go againif offered a ticket.

I have seen both (Steinfeld, then Barry, then Steinfeld on Broadway) and I prefer Steinfeld. He has an excellent vocal quality and hilarious line readings... no one can call Van Buren a mother****er quite like him.

once a month: You say you enjoyed the show but would only return if "offered a ticket"? That doesn't say much about your love of the show, does it?

I never thought the whole arrow in the curtain call bit was as funny as most everyone else. I left the theater with even more bewilderment as to why everyone thought it was so fantastic. Why was this so brilliant?

B_S_F I agree. I saw the final preview and the show ran almost 2 hours, and I felt every minuet of it. The songs were fine, not great, and the jokes never went above a very low level of representational humor. I thought the staging was messy and that the actors were to busy showing the audience how clever they were that the show never really took off. I was up in the Mezz and there was a good 20 min that no one around me laughed at any of the jokes, the songs were greeted with a smattering of polite applause, and for the first time in a long time at a Broadway show no one jumped to their feet to give it a standing O. Just some thoughts I know that others disagree, but it could have been and should have been a much tighter show.

Where in the world has it accumulated an extra 30 minutes from the Public incarnation?
