The thing is, yankeefan, she was like this before she hit fame. And there are plenty of gracious young stars without Michele's reputation.
She's the same now as she was when she was 11 and in RAGTIME.
And the fact that the entire cast of Glee has gone on record about her snotty behavior...
Jeeze, some people just like to remain ignorant and blind to facts.
Kad - OK. I really had never heard of her before I saw her in "Spring Awakening". I don't follow things as closely as some people here so I never heard about he attitude until she was on "Glee'. I am not making apology for her behaviour just saying that some people need more time to grow up than others. My example from the sports world is Andre Agassi. He was pretty obnoxious to his peers and fans as a teenager and into his twenties. He is totally different now and quite the humanitarian. Maybe she will never learn and stay like this but hopefully she will change.

I would say on the whole her rise before glee was pretty meteoric already. She went from Les Miz to Ragtime to Fiddler on the Roof to Spring Awakening to Hollywood Bowl Concert to Glee at a speed quite unusual for most performers. She's been surrounded by people telling her she's great since she was around seven. She's bound to have a big head and be a bit immature she's young and incredibly successful and like i said around people who kiss up to her.
Second absolutely no one should be judged on what they did at the age of Eleven and if they are that shows much more about the person judging them that it does the person being judged.
As for the earlier nose job overuse she probably says it to let people know they can still be considered beautiful and go far in the industry without having to get some kind of plastic surgery and that's a message people need to hear. If you want to talk about overuse of that kind of comment let's talk about la Streisand shall we.

"absolutely no one should be judged on what they did at the age of Eleven"
She was much older than 11 when I worked with her.
Stop trying to make excuses for her.

Unless 14 years later they are still acting the way they did at the age of 11.
TheatreDiva, I learned something new today. I've never heard about the phrase "C U Next Tuesday." Priceless. from RC in Austin, Texas
Daniel Radcliffe went from nobody to internationally known icon and millionaire, and by all accounts I've heard he's a gracious and humble guy who's a pleasure to work with.
Again, there are many out there like Lea Michele who had a ton of success when they were young... and aren't reviled.
This thread is lacking an important element: evidence.
OK, so she's self-conscious about her shnozz and pokes fun at it too much. That says more about one's humility and vulnerability than snootiness.
Not saying I'm doubting anyone. Just going by what's being said and the lack of evidence.
Uh, what do you want, a gun with her fingerprints on it?
I have my reasons for really disliking her, for the way she has treated people close to me, for the way she has treated people I know. But I don't really care to share those stories on here.
These aren't stories that make the headlines or get shared on talk shows, because people are too savvy for that. These are stories that colleagues swap over drinks.
I respect the desire to not share personal experiences. If that's the reason why nobody has detailed situations involving her that support the accusations, then it makes sense.
I assumed that might be it, but figured I'd pry as my curiosity about what could possibly lead to such a reputation peaked. Ah, well.
If it walks like a duck, acts like a duck, and quacks like a duck - it's a beeyoch named Glea Michelphaba.
EDIT:
Lea has a gorgeous voice, and many of her versions of songs on Glee are gorgeous and wonderful, but her attitude and the way she acts are not nearly as appealing. I've met several members of the Glee cast, and they've all been gracious and kind, whereas Lea has always had an attitude when it comes to things.
I personally love that her fellow cast members are not even fond of her because of said attitude and diva behavior, because if the people you work with can't stand you - it just goes to show you're clearly doing something wrong.
Kad - Nobody is denying what you are saying is not true but you have to understand that people would want to question it more because anybody could say they know how she has treated friends of yours on this forum and how can it be proved one way or another. Seems Kate Hudson did not have a problem speaking out about her - lol

TheatreDiva - kind of funny that she is dating one of the cast from "Glee", guess he thinks she is ok. BTW - every think that maybe some of the cast is jealous of the attention she gets from the show.

No.
I just think you have your head up your a$$
TheatreDiva- real classy reply. Never said that she is not a pain to work with because I really don't know. I just think it is funny that you don't think a bunch of twenty-something cast members who were not household names before "Glee" could possibly be jealous of the attention she has received. Maybe that is why they made those comments about her. Maybe the cast of "Glee" is correct and she is a royal pain and the devil incarnate. The answer is that you and I don't really know what goes on at the set. You say you worked with her but you don't say where or when. If you are going to say things like you posted about when you worked with her, you should back it up. You can do that without giving away too much personal detail.
yankeefan, you clearly have a massive **** for her so you should probably avoid this thread from here on out.
It's not that she's a pain in the ass to work with (WHICH SHE IS and yes, I do know from experience dealing with her) but on a personal level she amps it up to the max and is an intolerable human being.
And Diva has absolutely no reason to share with you or with anyone where he worked with her (and I'm the same way) but he has earned the right to share his opinions without being second guessed by you.
Is everyone also forgetting how she made that girl from True Grit cry?

She's just not a nice person - yes, does she sometimes slap on the smile, sign and take photos? Of course, because that's all part of her phoney bullsh*it act she puts on that includes her obnoxious as all get out tweets. Is she grateful for her fans who adore her and worship the ground she walks on? Probably not, but she'll pretend she does to the high heavens because she's just a big phoney b*tch. Also - and I'm not saying this was the case, although I'm sure it was speculated - there's a possible reason the producers of Funny Girl didn't want to have her involved with their production, and all the comments she made afterward about 'having to storm the stage' during Lauren's performances only further prove it - she's not a nice girl.
Yankeefan, she was like this before Glee. The worst stuff I've on her is from before the Glee pilot aired. And no, I won't share with the class the specifics. But I've been hearing the same stuff since Glee went on to become a success, so she hasn't been growing up.
Believe it or not, people on here ACTUALLY know what they're talking about sometimes. Some of us ACTUALLY work in the industry, or have very close friends who do. We're not stay-at-home theatre nerds. And we'd not rather reveal more than we need to about ourselves or others.
I don't know what goes on while Glee's filming. My verified knowledge extends only to Michele's theatre experiences. But the things I have heard about Michele since her rise to semi-stardom indicates that it was not a passing phase. And this is not just me, Jordan, and TheatreDiva being bitchy jerks. This is a COMMON OPINION of Michele, if you speak to many professionals personally. Not just her peers and not at the damn stage door.
She's also a total ho. Do we need a running list of her conquests? She's the queen of the one night stand. Her list is long and includes Tony winners and Tony losers and some guy named Tony she just met on the street who told her she was pretty.
But if she was honest about any of that, it would ruin her squeaky clean Glee image.
I honestly don't follow / care about her personal life, but I am not surprised.

The stories I've heard about her being awful have nothing to do with her sexual conquests, and I think her sexual conquests have nothing to do with this thread or with how she's perceived. I don't think you can complain about a running list of her conquests and then say she's not honest about it? At any rate, who she screws has nothing to do with what people are bitching about.
I could care less who she has sex with. In fact, I can live my whole life not knowing that information and be just fine.
And my personal knowledge of her doesn't even have anything to with her work (but I do know all the stories) it has to do with her in person, away from the theater.
And also, we're supposed to believe she had sex with a Tony winner? Where on earth would she find a straight Tony winner?
