re: Legally Blonde: 100% official

i've never been inside Oz, i just feel the fronatge and everything would be good and also Legally Blonde now at the Picadilly Theatre sounds sooo much better than Legally Blonde now at the Savoy Theatre (my wierd mind works like this) re: Legally Blonde: 100% official haha

re: Legally Blonde: 100% official

It wont take the Piccadilly as its been taken by Flashdance and i have a feeling that it will play there for awhile.

The Savoy came up months ago and apparently it was 1st rejected by the producers so i dont know why they did a U Turn.
The theatre is an awkward one, ive never been a big fan of it, and the show itself will struggle to fit in there in my opinion so i guess it will be scaled down drastically.

the savoy is awful inside. you get smuggled in some dodgy side street entrance, with next to no foyer, you go down some horrible stairs and then you end up in this very tight fitting theatre.

The decoration of the theatre in my opinion is beautiful, the stage and the seating however not so.

I honestly do not know why they chose this place. Oh well, i guess they know what they're doing.

It's just my wishful thinking SANDM although im glad Flashdance has found a home! The thing is...i'd rather have a huge grand production of Legally Blonde in a big theatre that lasted 2/3 years than a scaled down one in a small theatre that lasts 5 years...is that stupid?

re: Legally Blonde: 100% official

no its perfectly reasonable and i'm in total agreement with you Sam. If they're going to scale it down, I don't think it will work as well... atleast I can't see it.

I saw it on Broadway last year and i don't really see how they could scale down alot of it..

The US tor has been scaled down, it does not have the huge house set at the beginning or the inside of the house. The many things coming from under the stage have also been replaced with roll on things.
It has not harmed the show much

Goes on sale to the public on Monday 26th April.

AKA have messed up dates and releases, again. Seems fitting they have Legally Blonde really...

If Sheridan Smith stars, I will have to find a way to get out there and see the show again. I simply adore her. I think I would much prefer her to Laura Bell Bundy.

I wonder if there will be any changes in the score. I remember Blood in the Water being almost universally panned.

re: Legally Blonde: 100% official

I like Blood in the Water, there aren't any songs I skip.

I can't wait for this to come, I don't know much about the Savoy but it is very easy to miss that it is there.
I hope they don't scale down too much, I don't want to see a touring production in a West End theatre.

re: Legally Blonde: 100% official

Im with Mama on this one, plus its going into what I think is the worst theatre in the west end, and its such a bad fit. To me the Savoy is all about classy revivals and the like, I just find Blonde an odd fit for the theatre.

But the downscale of it may make it a better show, part of the reason I hated it on Bway was it was so overblown.

re: Legally Blonde: 100% official

I don't know why everyone's always so "ooh, do you like blondes or brunettes?". Come ON! REDHEADS! Don't you *watch* Skins?! Six Feet Under?! Have you never heard of Felicia Day, Bryce Dallas Howard, Alyson Hannigan, Amy Adams, Isla Fisher, Jayma Mays? You people with your "blonde/brunette"ness, honestly...

I'm pleased to see I'm not the only person who isn't going "OMG Legally Blonde in the UK, how wonderful, spiffy, marvellous, best thing ever!". But I'd totally go on a BWW West End board group trip. As long as someone else organises it again. :3
