re: Legally Blonde: 100% official

hate to say, but i agree with Mama - I give it 6 months too or a little more if they have crazy producers throwing money at it.

the show i didn't think was strong enough but now playing at the savoy, not a massively known cast and having AKA (!), i doubt it will have a healthy run at all.

re: Legally Blonde: 100% official

oh people come on

You guys were also sure it would not open in London...and it is doing

This is the kind of show that the UK eat up, look around the West End or whats about to open.

I think it will have a healthy run here

Oh and yes the venue isnt the best in the world, but many shows have had decent runs there so i dont really see it affecting anything

Lets allow the show to open before we start talking about it closing
Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna

re: Legally Blonde: 100% official

One of the best theatres in London for alienating its audience from the action on stage!

re: Legally Blonde: 100% official

It's looks quite claustrophobic. I'm not sure about the walls... is it even going to be big enough to house the set?

Well, the Sheffield Crucible production of 'Fiddler On The Roof' played there 2 years ago and trouble fitting its set onto that of The Savoy. Take into consideration that any production of 'Fiddler' doesn't require too much set wise, that production had to be redesigned and previews cancelled.
Having seen 'Legally Blonde' in New York there is no way that that set design is going to come to London. They must already be redesigning it for the transfer.

I've never liked the savoy - (never forget didn't help my views) - the silver really doesn't do anything for me and i think the design is just bizarre!!

I took my mum to see Mickey Rooney and Ann Miller in 'Sugar Babies' (yes, she's that old!) and she said it looked like they had done a Blue Peter job of putting baking trays on the pros arch!
We sat 9th row circle and felt so far away we moved to the stalls in the interval.
Probably one of my least favorite London houses.

I'm reallllly not liking the look of the Savoy.

Take it they aren't going to 'Blonde' it up? Spruce it up with a bit of paint - pink, naturally...:)

No they wont be allowed to touch it. The Savoy is one of the most protected theatres in the UK.

OK, I ws given the CD of this show which was OK, then I saw the MTV telecast and was completely underwhelmed The show should be called BUMB BLONDE. Strictly for 15 year old girls.

Sugar Babies - Fab! Haha... takes me back.

The Savoy is awful in decoration and sight lines (unless forward in Stall and Dress)

The show is best suited to Performances really - Rat Pack was perfect I thought for it really.

re: Legally Blonde: 100% official

That's a disgusting theatre.

I personally think Legally Blonde will do extremely well in the west end, but that's just me.

re: Legally Blonde: 100% official

It will certainly be a scaled down production from what was seen in New York.
The Savoy stage is very small compared to the shows original planned home, The Dominion, the Savoy has a stage just 8m deep and a pros arch opening of 9m.
The Dominion stage is 12m deep and a pros arch opening of 15m- nearly double that of the Savoy.
The other rumored home for 'Legally Blonde' was The Piccadilly which is only larger than the Savoy by 1m.
For a show that was to be so big it's certainly been cut down to size- almost half its size!
