Legally Blonde: 100% official

I seriously never thought it would happen, especially considering the monumental f*ck up they made of the marketing all those moons ago, and the sudden closure of it in NY, but Legally Blonde in the West End has now been confirmed! Performances will begin at the Savoy (I didn't even think about the Savoy) on 5 December. Groups go on sale today, and general sale will begin on 26 April. All cast announcements are being embargoed until 22 April.

Good times? I'm not sure, but if Sheridan Smith is in it, she'll probably bump up the star ratings.

I wouldn't have been entirely pushed to go see it, but if Sheridan Smith is in it, I'm there. She was phenomenal in Little Shop.

shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

it seems a bit of a small stage to put LB in but oh well i'm sure they are obviously going to manage it!

It did look small in Fiddler, but Carousel made it look big. Maybe it was the projections.

I don't think that was a factor for me, I didn't subject myself to Never Forget.

I didn't think this was would be happening, but hey, I reckon it will do well in London in a smaller theatre.

And PLEASE PRODUCERS, no tacky MTV casting show!

re: Legally Blonde: 100% official

Groups can be booked through ATG's groups department and should be available through all agencies by Monday. For now, the only way I've found is to email them on groups@theambassadors.com.

i could make a tonne of jokes now that unclude lyrics from the show...but i'm restraining my hands :) i always knew it would make it! The Savoy is a horrible theatre! the seating is so uncomfortable and there is next to no marquee space! i wanted it to take the dominion...just so the bronze freddie could be replaced by a gold elle re: Legally Blonde: 100% official

re: Legally Blonde: 100% official

Do you know anything about ticket pricing yet?

It would be suicide for them to charge £60+ for tickets surely? Hopefully they will take the same route as Avenue Q/Spring Awakening or they will pretty much rule out alot of the target audience.

Hurrah @ Lgeally Blonde.

Boo @ thee Savoy. First of all- it has no room for a pretty marquee and nice signage, secondly- its so wierd inside..... and thirdly..... well, there is no third.

I hope it does well though- its such a great show. Loved it in New York.

Yes - it's an interesting choice for a theatre. Maybe it will be a holding pen - so they can test it out before moving it on forward to a more spacious house.

re: Legally Blonde: 100% official

Maybe they'll do a Next to Normal and announce a theatre they wouldn't mind being in, in the hope that one they really want comes up before December...?

re: Legally Blonde: 100% official

right it sounds stupid but you know in your head you just have an image of a show being in a certain theatre...i just really always imagine Legally Blonde at the Picadilly...the Savoy seems odd to me and my mental image :P haha im such a retad sometimes!

re: Legally Blonde: 100% official

Totally agree. I was always secretly hoping it would take the Adelphi from Phantom 2. Yes, its only over the road, but the frontage and visibility is tenfold than the Savoy.

I've never been into the Savoy ... what's it like?
