Isn't it funny that everyone is so moved by Anne Hathaway's performance, and yet was throwing brickbats when that raw footage was released on some website about four weeks ago - how times change and in just four weeks :)

The trailer doesn't suck. We'll see. Mr. Hooper is certainly a skilled director, he might make it work.
I didn't watch the raw footage from a couple of weeks ago, simply because I assumed something more 'polished' would be released soon. And I'm glad I waited.
There are some videos on YouTube of Patti Lupone doing I Dreamed a Dream back in the day, and (though not as meekly sung) it was much more contemplative and closer in feeling to what Anne Hathaway's doing compared to what the song later became.
Just me or would anyone else like to see a film of this scale with the Blacklick Valley cast?

I got choked up at Anne's face when they were cutting her hair.
the footage looks awsum! can't wait till the film comes out. although, i'm not liking eponine's costume very much. eddie redmayne looks handsome as hell.
I've never seen a production of Les Miz that had an Eponine with missing teeth, so I think I would have been a little surprised to see a toothless Eponine in the trailer.
My point is, at the very least they should've made Eponine homely or plain. As it is, Samantha Barks is better looking than Amanda Seyfried so it offsets the balance.

The last musical Universal released was "Mamma Mia!" the same day as a little picture called "The Dark Knight". Seemed to work out well for both films.

Also keep in mind, a HUGE chunk of The Hobbit's opening weekend numbers will come from the first midnight showings. Les Miserables will build its numbers up all weekend and will likely debut in the number 2 or 3 slot if nothing bigger comes along.
She does not appear to be wearing any "makeup" she is just a pretty girl with strong features.

I love the mention of "Miss Saigon" under Cameron's name. Bringing it back to public consciousness and hopefully next to be fast tracked after this film

Why is Les Mis always called the worlds longest running musical in press information? It is the longest currently running musical, but not the longest running ever. It still has close to 15 years to go before it hits that feat. I know it is a matter of semantics, but it bugs me a bit when I see it.

I'm worried also that Eponine will be a stronger singer than Cosette.
And frankly, people who hate Cosette should not be playing her IMO. The role needs someone who will bring more depth to her and understand that she's a great character who got the short stick in the musical.

To be fair, we have no idea if they have blacked out any of of Eponine's teeth. Also, I think they made a mistake in styling Cosette. She looks like a nun. It makes sense with her background in the book and even knowing how religious and secretive Valjean is, but I cannot imagine this homely Cosette attracting any man's attention, let alone someone as smoking as this movie-Marius.
It always takes adjustments for me to get used to hearing the songs being sung more intimately, after hearing them being sung full out for years.
Im looking forward to seeing this!

Because it just FEELS like forever

It's not that far different than this.

so does this mean people will like Daphne Rubin-Vega's version of I DREAMED A DREAM if she had done the movie version or what?
I loved Daphne in the role. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE.

I didn't think Cosette looked like a nun in the trailer.

Wow, Amanda Seyfried is "homely" now? Picky picky.
Anne's "But the tiger's come at night" was gorgeous.
I cannot wait for this film!
