looks so uninspired. I never thought I'd say that. It sounds great.. but visually it just looks like a handful of dailies.

every scene has the same exact lighting. looks like everything shown was literally filmed in the same day.

WOW! I thought I would be disappointed with this trailer, I was wrong. Anne's rendition of 'I dreamed a dream' left me with tears in my eyes. It gave me everything could want from a teaser. Well everything except a shot of Aaron as Enjolras. I haven't been this excited for a film in ages!

It's a teaser trailer of actual footage of a movie that is still filming. Of course the lighting isn't going to be done yet and everything will be polished for the movie premiere.

Eh, I disagree about the lighting looking the same in every scene, but regardless, that's what post production is for. Color correction!

Personally, I have never seen Les Mis nor do I know what it's about (shocker, I know) but with that being said, this trailer makes me want to see the film. I also was impressed with Anne.

I think the grittier and less "glam" THIS particular movie looks, the better.
I think it's a great teaser trailer. It does it's job of making me want to see more. I've been thus-fully teased.

I'm really surprised at how much footage they showed for a movie that's still in production. That's pretty incredible!
I think it looks great, and Anne's interpretation of the song is very different. She sounds like a ghost singing. Barely there. I found it very effective.
I also like some of the camera work a lot, and no, I wouldn't get too hung up on a hugely compressed video clip of footage that's barely out of the camera for lighting or tone.
Actually, the term for a movie that hasn't been color-timed yet, when it's first edited together for review, is called a "one-light." For exactly that reason. They use "one light" on the entire film.
Hugh Jackman looks like he's really going through hell in the film. And that shot of the little girl (really young Cosette?) is heartbreaking.
I have high hopes.
EDIT: I would also assume the film will actually be in the wider Cinemascope ratio of 2.35:1, rather than the standard widescreen ratio of 1.85:1 seen here. That may be just for this trailer ... who knows? But to really give it an "epic" feel, I would think they'd go with 2.35:1.

The way they made Anne Hathaway sings this was just brilliant. The fact that it wasn't "beautiful" made it beautiful.

She's so hollow and gutted. There is nothing "Broadway" about her interpretation.
I don't think it would ever work on stage, but I'm glad we won't be getting any "American Idol" version of this song from a character who has just given up on life.

It gave me chills. I'm finally catching the tour of the show this summer, so I have something to compare to the film. Just some early predicting but I think this film could do well come awards season, I think it could win best picture.

I am just as excited as I've been for the last month or two. Anne Hathaway sounds fantastic. Regarding the issue of the one-light print, a quick Google search told me that Tom Hooper did the same with The King's Speech:
"We shot on the Fuji [Eterna] Vivid 500T film stock, which gives you a little bit more contrast and you can shape the actors; our one-light rushes looked fantastic because what was on the neg was so close to what we wanted. We didn't have to do a lot in the DI grade, which for me goes to show how much you can get out of film."

While the insistence on pimping the "Dream the..." "Dream, lives!" slogans to death is tiresome to this fan by now, the trailer is awesome and I like. 
I hear John Cameron orchs in 90% of that trailer. Sweet. Only the ending has a touch of the new concoction. Here's hoping only a few seconds here and there of that fragmented, confused, reedy, shrill reduction makes it into the film.

Anne Hathaway's version of "I Dreamed A Dream", even from the little bit we've heard in the trailer, is the first time this song has ever moved me. It probably wouldn't work on Broadway, but for a film, it's truly heartbreaking. I'll take a wonderful performance over a boring ol' belt fest any day of the week.

I won't lie, I am skeptical about this film as it is such a beloved show to me, but I got chills watching the teaser.

This is so moving, as a first taste of the dramatic tale behind Les Miserables! It sends a message that we will see all the characters unfolding with their personal and collective stories, but that it will be epic storytelling.
If the kind of performance that we see from Anne bodes well for the rest of the central characters, then this is worth all the waiting ( from the first time we ever saw the show or read the novel)!

I've never been a massive fan of the show, I enjoyed it and appreciate it but I've never gushed over it. However, for a film that's still in production, this looks beautiful, one light print or not. It really bodes well.
Annes version of IDAD is the first time I've ever been moved by the song, she's got Oscar written all over her. If the others are turning in performances at that level then we really could be in for something truly special.
