Les Miserables 25th Anniversary UK Tour - New Cast Recording

Just in case you haven't got enough versions of this show, news reaches me of another cast recording.

The new Cast recording will first be on sale at the Bristol Hippodrome only from Thursday 15th July, the press night. The CD will shortly be available to buy at stores Nationwide, as well as for download on iTunes and other platforms.

I think what Spotlight61 was trying to get at was the fact that the CD will be on limited release at the Hippodrome and full release thereafter. We haven't known about that for a year, it was only just revealed.

I also suspect that there will be another recording of the O2 event later in the year, possibly a DVD release of the concert version?

A DVD is being made of a combination of the 3 performances at the O2.

3 performances at the O2 Matt.
There is going to be an open dress rehearsal, as he did with 'Hey Mr Producer'. That DVD was filmed over both performances!

I'm surprised more people haven't gotten it yet. So far there have been three performances since the CD went on sale, and another one tonight, and I'm only seeing three people who claim to have it. Seriously?

But it's only on sale at the theatre in Bristol, so the only people who can reasonably get it are those who were already planning to go to the show, most of whom aren't going to be posting on theatre websites about it. If there had been more notice that it would be released for press night in Bristol more super-fans might have arranged to go, but it's all been a bit last minute.

I hope it goes on general release soon, or they will at least give it a release date. There are loads of things on amazon available to pre-order.

Is it not the same as a Broadway show where you can go down and buy merchandise even if you don't have tickets to that performance?

Probably, but its not like any of us can just pop off to Bristol. I probably am the closest (when I'm at home, which I'm not now anyway), but certainly wouldn't hop off over there just to get a CD - to see the show, sure, but just to get a CD? No. Its in Bristol - where the vast majority of posters on this board are not.

A new production opens In Madrid, Spain on November 18th this year.
It is the shows second run in Madrid, the last one being back in 1992 which ran for nearly 3 years.
Most recent productions of major musicals in Spain have been recorded for CD and it has already been confirmed that this new 'Les Miserables' will get a new more complete version than the first one.

If I must. As i did for POL when he was in Madrid, I can get you guys pretty cheap seats, if not freebies if you find yourself in my neck of the woods. Give the run a few months first tho.

No problem at all, there are around 20 flights a day back and forth- how to you think i get over so quickly so often!'! lol.
Only problem you will have if you want to do what I think you're planning already is that the matinees in Spain are never earlier than 6pm.
