Does anyone have a clue when will Les Mix 2017 US Tour announce cast and start to sell tickets? It was announced by playbill in February that the tour will begin in September at Providence Performing Arts Center, RI. I have planned my trip to New York at September due to that. But it's 5 months from now and still no cast announced, and the ticket hasn't open at Providence Performing Arts Center. Now I'm increasingly worried that the RI station will be cancelled.
Anyone please provide some information?
It's not unheard of to not announce casting until just before rehearsals begin...certainly not until contracts have been signed. Rehearsals will not start until July, most likely.
As for ticket sales, you'd want to contact the venue.
Auditions were last month but I haven't heard a peep either. Looks like certain cities have announced their dates, but not others.
Because people buying tickets want to see Les Miz, so no one is waiting on who will be cast in the roles. If you bought a ticket, you can safely show up and the show will be there.
i already have my tickets for when it comes to The National Theater in D.C., but because i hold season tickets there.

Contacted the theater and they have no clue either. Guess I'll have to wait
I just looked on PPAC's website and it looks like Les Mis is part of their add on performances to their core subscription package. It is set up similarly here with the Kimmel Center and their Broadway season that eventually all of the events will become available to single tickets at some point once subscriptions are processed and finalized. Les Mis is also coming to Philly in the 2017-2018 season as an add on performance thus I assume PPAC will handle things similarly. Your best bet is to sign up for PPAC's email list that way you get emails from them letting you know about ticket updates.
I also highly doubt a well oiled machine like Les Mis will cancel dates of a fairly anticipated tour, especially their first stop. I can assure you that all of the subscribers I have talked to are very excited to see Les Mis and don't really care who is it in.
Half of the upcoming tours that are set to go out (Waitress, The Color Purple, etc) don't have full companies announced either but will as someone above mentioned when contracts and auditions are wrapped up.
If I had to guess, I would say the tour would include some alumni from previous productions and some new talent mixed as that tends to be Les Mis's typical practice.

Thanks! I don't care much about the cast either. I was just worried that there may be some delay which might cause the PPAC stop to be cancelled. Now I'm not. I can start to plan my staying in RI now.
I'm sure Valjean will someone who's played the role before.
Allison Guinn is Madame Thenardier. Would love to get an actual announcement of the full cast.

It seems so weird to have cast members announcing their roles without anything official coming from the production

Is it Charlotte Maltby? I remember she was announced to be playing Cosette in the most recent revival, but was removed due to age difference between her, Andy Mientus, and Nikki M. James.

They didn't take that into account when they originally cast her?
I didn't know about this tour until I saw this thread today! Does anyone know whether they're planning to add more cities? I'm hoping for Boston.

Nope. This is somebody who was the ensemble of a "Popular" show who covered two principal roles.....She confirmed to me she will be in Les Mis and will "possibly " play Cossette

Jillian Butler just left the touring company of Wicked and covered Glinda and Nesssa, so it sounds like it could be her.

No announcement for Boston yet, but it will start in Providence very soon. I imagine it may be part of next season for Broadway in Boston or perhaps could end up at the Wang Center this year, as they have not announced anything there yet....
Thank you LJD123. I signed up for the email alerts from the show site, in case that's relevant, and I'll keep an eye out.
Given how quickly Jillian left the Wicked tour, my guess is rehearsals are going to be starting very soon. I vaguely remember a post involving Jillian leaving noting that whatever it was she was doing started next week, so within the next week I assume a full cast announcement will be made when rehearsals begin.

Rehearsals start the 14th according to the audition notice .....
