I am glad its extending. I know Camron talked bout how they would extend depending on how ticket sales went. It is also true that the people that are going to the show are people who never knew it closed. I do think that this will be an open ended run very very soon.

guys, the show is not ending anytime soon! Salonga will stay until at least Septemberish, and then may choose to extend, or may not. But the fact is, she will NOT, and i repeat will NOT stay until the end of the run, because that is not going to be for YEARS. At LEAST five, if not more.

is it just me or does Broadway keep things on too long? it's obvious it's still selling but people are a bit too one-track-minded if the shows stick around until we put another damn plaque in front of the Broadhurst too....

Why do you people care so much if it keeps extending? Don't you have more important things in your lives where it shouldn't really bother you how long Les Mis runs at the Broadhurst Theater?

It will keep running as long as there are enough people that want to see it, why would you want to deny people something they want to see?

One question: Why do tourists with 10 kids, a big cooler in their room at the DoubleTree, and fat asses want to see French people spin, bitch, and sing operaticaly? Do they want se spectacle? Go see Wicked. Do you want pretty music? Go see Les Miz. But do tourists usually want to see peopole cry, spin, and sing? Not too often. Then how does it make so much money? That is the question to Les Miz. Cats was good because Cats attract kids. Phantom's another story...

I agree Kquill. And to all those people who say that they want Les Miserables to close so that another show can have that spce. I say Why not want shows like hairspray, jersey boys, ave q, the lion king ect ect to close for the same reason.

There are tons of shows out there that want to go to broadway and are just waiting for a theatre to be free. Just because on particular show is playing at a particular theatre I don't see why you have to be pissed off bout it. Wouldn't you rather a show like Les Miserables keeps playing at the broadhurst non stop instead of using that theatre for a movie turned musical?

I'm not suprised Les Miz would extend again. I mean it's an incredible show so I think it should be extended again seeing as many people love watching it over and over. Well according to the article regarding Lea Salonga returning to Les Miz, it states that she will be staying with the show for the rest of it's run through the summer.

Hope thats any help to anyone :)

look I for one missed it years ago.
So I got to see this revival and
I liked it very much!
I love Alex and Aaron and Norm
and I am looking forward to seeing
Lea in March.

Now I just hope there is a recording
with this cast currently on Bwdy.
I love the music, and I'm glad its
sticking around for a while!

I want them to record the show with Lea! She already sand "I Dreamed a Dream" in one of the shows in Manila, and I think she did a good job. I am happy that they are extending it and I cant wait to see Lea in March!

Any show on broadway CANNOT survive just on local attendance alone. The reason why Les Miserables has been around for so long is that it has had many and mnay tourists come and see it. Why the hell even generalize what toursists do and don't wanna see on there trip to nyc. Honestly I can understand that there are people who think enough is enough with this theaterical masterwork. However, Would you rather that Les Miserables continued to play at the Broadhurst theatre or would you prefer that it packed up so that another crappy movie turned musical could take its place?

As soon as it was announced for a 6-month Broadway run, MANY people on this very board predicted it would extend indefinitely. This is no surprise at all. I always assumed it would extend as long as it could sell. Why not?

It will be open ended before april 15th guaranteed. There is nothing waiting in the regions right now for the Broadhurst. The show is making money. Cameron has no reason to close it.
