Has anyone heard anything new about a possible cast recording of the Les Miz Revival?
Maybe you should put a question mark on that subject header...

I hope they record it, I really REALLY enjoyed Rubin-Vega. The only believeable Fantine I have ever seen.

I know someone in the LES MIS revival. I'll try to find out if he knows anything about a recording. I'll get back to you.
Dollypop, who do you know?
I doesn't seem like they would spend the dough to record another version just b/c the cast changed.
well, doesn't it depend on if people will buy the recording? I would...

If it were up to the people, I know that people would do anything to get this Revival recorded. It needs to be recorded badly!!! The cast is just so great and needs to be remebered with a Full Cast Recording!!
SHE KNOWS NORM LEWIS?!?!?!?!?! HOW? That is sooo cool!!!
Les Mis already has the symphonic recording, the original cast recording, and recordings in German and French. Correct me if there are more. As nice as it would be to get an updated recording, I doubt they would record another version of the show.
They should though because the cast is so diverse and great! I think people are tired of hearing Colm Wilkenson as Valjean. The true Broadway fans need this recording bad!
They should, but as I said, they already have plenty of recordings out.

14 more, actually--this list (click "Recordings" on the left) counts 18:

I think the fact that there are so many recordings already is actually one reasons why a Broadway revival recording is more likely. Les Miz is one of the most-recorded shows of all time...with almost one recording per year of its existence, it could even be the show that has been recorded more times within a certain period. Cameron Mackintosh certainly seems to have no qualms about putting the money down to record a new cast when the occasion calls for it--the change of a few of the original Les Miz leads from London to Broadway prompted a brand new cast recording, whereas Phantom, another Mackintosh venture, did not change its leads in the transfer and so was not re-recorded. Certainly you'd think a much-publicized Broadway revival with a fresh and exciting cast would get its own recording by that logic. Makes sense to me.
The only problem with any revival recording speculation--we have heard zip so far, which would seem to make it a lot less likely. But who knows, maybe they're waiting for Lea Salonga.
I think it would be interesting to hear Lea Salonga on the recording as Fantine since there is a recording of her as Eponine.

To save JavertJunky to energy, I shall type his response to neddyfrank for him:
"OMG IS IT NORM LEWIS?!?!"
*bows*
O MovieGuy you know me so well. Its kinda like we are best friends or something... o wait... we are. Haha. Well if it is Norm then i guess we have to go on his word. But hopefully it has changed since December. Maybe they should wait for Lea.
