I saw her in concert Saturday night at the MPAC in Jersey, and I swear, it’s the greatest concert I’ve ever seen. She has MASTERED singing, her voice is as good as ever, the greatest voice EVER. Billy Stritch is her MD, he was on piano and they sang a couple duets, there were 4 other musicians, keyboard, woodwind, bass, and drums. She sang many standards, going back and forth between ballads and uptempos. She opened with The Best is yet to Come, sang What a wonderful world, Steppin out with my baby, a Judy garland medley, someone like you, I’ll be seeing you, son of a preacher man, Alfie by Burt Bacharach, the 11 o’clock number in Camille Claudel, she did No One is Alone, the first time I felt I truly understood that song, and ended with Over the Rainbow. She did many other songs too, jam packed set list, I felt I got my moneys worth. Linda is an AMAZING singer and performer, not like some of these other musical theater actresses who are boring on stage, acting through song. Linda is a show woman who knows what songs work for her and gave us the hits. Come back to Broadway soon PLEASE Linda I beg you!!! She will be If she’s in your area, I’d highly recommend seeing her!

I love Linda Eder, but listen to the original cast recording of Into The Woods -that's how to perform No One Is Alone!

Glad to hear her voice is still wonderful. I wonder if anybody saw her 54 Below show with her son Jake.
I don’t know if I could say greatest ever but it’s certainly special and I’ve always wondered why she wasn’t able to break out as a major theatre star…some of her recordings are very special. Can she act?

I saw her in the pre-Broadway tour of Jekyl & Hyde here in Denver and she was fine. She has said that her priority was raising her child and prefers concert appearances over a long term show commitment.
I have seen her 3 times in concert in Denver. First time was right after the Jekyl & Hyde run here. She did a free concert at the Auditorium Theater at the DCPA and it was the night she performed Man of La Mancha live in front of an audience for the first time The place went nuts. The last time I saw her was with Burt Bacharach. That was a wonderful evening.

Greatest ever? No.
One of the greats? Sure.

Did she perform "Bring On The Men" from Jekyll and Hyde? I've never had the opportunity to see her perform in concert...but some day perhaps. Your enthusiasm for her is wonderful. I honestly don't believe in the "best" in any category. There are too many wonderful choices to single out one.
A performer ? What has Linda done? One Broadway show standing in the center and singing her butt off. Bless her heart

I think the reason No One is Alone really came through was because she prefaced it by saying something like, “this is a good one for the crazy world we’re living in.” She didn’t get political, but saying that and then singing No One is Alone spoke volumes. And she sang it BEAUTIFULLY. At this point in the concert, I was already thinking how I’d love to see her in Follies because I’d love to hear her sing Losing My Mind. She’s sung it in concert before, but I want to see her in a musical. Even if just a city center show, that would be wonderful.

truly a phenomenal voice, and i will never pass up the opportunity to see her live.
I know she may 'read' a bit over 35 years old these days, but can you imagine how vocally pristine her "Bobbie" would have been in the recent gender-swapped revival of Company???!!!??

If Linda Eder starred in Paranormal Activity this board would orgasm.

I believe her acting received mixed reviews from the critics when she was in "Jekyll & Hyde. She decided she did not want to pursue a Broadway career and focus on recording albums and doing concerts.
She seems to focus mainly on the NY area, Florida, and California these days for her concerts. She only does a handful of dates a year. I assume a lot of this is because she hates to fly. I saw her over a decade ago in Boone, NC, and she said she had driven two days from her home in Connecticut because she didn't want to get on a plane.
She certainly could have had more Broadway gigs if she'd wanted to, but from her YouTube vlog it seems like she'd much rather be at home than trek into the city for any kind of sustained run.

Correct in her rider she wants gas money and she doesn’t want to do an 8 show a week gig on Broadway

She did sing Bring on the Men! It was amazing!!
When I was bashing the “boring” musical theater actresses, I mean in concert. I’ve seen Patti Lupone twice in concert, I’ve seen Sutton Foster, and many others. I just think their expertise is musical theater driven, that there’s a disconnect when watching them just singing songs out of character or even in character. To be great in concert, you have to be yourself and have that je ne sais quoi, and Linda has that in strides. She also did mostly american songbook crowd pleasing hits and that always helps.

She did a new musical by Frank Wildhorn called Camille Claudel at the Goodspeed Opera House in 2003, and she performed the excellent 11 o’clock number at her concert. It looks very Sunday in the Park/Lempicka-esque. Signature Theater in VA was about to do it with Teal Wicks and Hugh Panaro until COVID postponed them. I hope they still end up doing it at some point.
Linda Eder is a gift from the Gods. A fantastic singer and performer. Have seen her in concert over 50 times, all over the country. Saw her 3 times last year in Los Angeles, Palm Springs, and Irvine. Have all of her cds, and just adore her.
Many years ago, Bravo TV did a 1 hour profile on her, and Larry King was interviewed. He said, "She's the greatest singer, you've never heard of." She's always been under the radar.

Saw her last year at the Keswick Theater just outside Philadelphia and agree that she sounded incredible and gave a really special, engaging concert. Great song choices, charming introductions and stories, and gorgeous vocals. I'd love to see her in an Encores show or something else high-quality/low-commitment to make it work for her.
