Anyone watching? I'm enjoying it.
Glad you’re enjoying it. I’m running around cleaning and disinfecting so I’m not watching it. I did see it Off-Broadway. Christine Baranski ran away with the play I remember. She was hilarious as well as touching,

God, that was fantastic. Everyone was perfect but especially Celia - she was magnificent. This is the type of play (with a cast like this) that would be perfect for broadway when shows reopen. A cast that will sell tickets and a play that costs very very little to run.
Yes, Celia especially was great.
I need to see her in a full production as soon as humanly possible.

I watched it completely blind. I had no previous knowledge. While its a bit of its time its ultimately a very moving play. The actress in particular who played Sally was great and heartbreaking.
Gah, I missed this. Is it still available to watch?

These are good offerings. But also an unfortunate reminder of pandering to "names"...it would be great to mix it up a little and have some up and comers in these things. Who, most of the time, are better than the usual collections of stars we see over and over again.
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know why this reading is still available, but the Stars in the House play readings are streamed live only. I remember Seth saying that because of copyright, the readings couldn't be preserved indefinitely. Wouldn't that apply to this too?

I believe this reading was in special arrangement with the publisher, and they may have paid for the rights. Not sure, but I don’t think they just picked it off the shelf without permission.

This was such a touching performance! Specially with it being just four characters it felt very beautifully done. I hope they do another one. I know Love Valour has a bit bigger cast but that or even a Master Class reading (ou could even get Patti or Tyne to perform moments from it) would be another amazing way to celebrate McNally.

I of course can't find it now, but I swear one of the press releases for this said that it would only remain available for 24 hours after the reading ended.

It’s still there. Just go to You Tube and search for the title.

I believe Ankela's comment was referring to being unable to find the press release that apparently said the video would only be available for 24 hours, not being unable to find the video.
Sure enough, the video is now labeled Private and requires the user to login and verify they've been granted access to it.

The rights in this case were a non-issue (because Kirdahy was involved directly). The issue with rights is simple: pay and get it waived and you go. The bigger issue is AEA, and again it is money but here again when BCEFA is the beneficiary that is also not an issue. (Cf. the no-go Redbull reading last week).
