Just on the wire...
Great to have another show regularly filming in NYC which uses stage actors in various roles...
Fantastic news. Love this show. I wonder if Kerry Butler will become a regular on this show. She was absolutely stunning in her little cameos. I hope she takes over as the lead. She is brilliant and should always be working on stage and on tv. I can't wait until her name is above the marquee and her shows are selling out every night. She's going to be a bigger star than Mary Martin and Ethel Merman combined!!!
(ok, i'll stop now)
Edited: Kerry insteadn of Kerri

GREAT news
Thank you.
It'll be on Broadway?
Though this is somewhat old news (NBC stated the series renewal several months ago), its nice to once again be reminded. Thanks!
Kerry (not Kerri) Butler's character Reese already concluded its 3-part arch in the series so there's no reason why she'd become a 'regular' -- the show is about 3 women: Wendy Healy (Brooke Shields), Nico Reilly (Kim Raver) and Victory Ford (Lindsay Price). Period.
Now... the way Reese was written and left open-ended there COULD be a possibility to bring back to character on occasion, but not as a 'regular'.
And yes... the Complete First Season arrives on DVD on May 27, 2008:
Personally I wish they'd replace Kim Raver. Her performance on the show is similar to watching paint dry.
Great news:)
Hmm... My partner and I like Cashmere Mafia (also with some eps full of Broadway peeps), but didn't make it thru the pilot for Lipstick Jungle.
BrodyFosse123: My entire post about Kerry was sarcastic...I know that the show is about Brooke, Kim and Lindsay. I saw every episode of Season 1 and LOVED the show...looking forward to buying this on DVD.
Unfortunately, CASHMERE MAFIA didn't make the cut and ABC is not bringing the series back.
ABC officially announced its cancellation on March 13, 2008.
Cashmere Mafia had a better cast IMO. I tried really hard to love "Lipstick" but I couldnt get into it. I am glad NYC actors will be working though. I'm happy for all those that like the show.
That's too bad...Cashmere Mafia was light years better than Lipstick Jungle. Jungle takes itself WAY too seriously...Mafia was more lighter and easier to connect with.
Plus...Lindsay Price is a terrible actress...her character is totally lame. Too bad.
At least ABC renewed Pushing Daisies....now THAT is a good show.
Ah, yes... At least I still have Pushing Daisies to look forward to -- in 5 months.
Waaaaaah
CASHMERE MAFIA was the better show, and had a much stronger cast. At the end of the day, neither show is that good though, but if one deserved the ax over the other, it was LIPSTICK.

WithoutATrace--- I could NOT agree more. I cannot wait for the day (and I have been waiting for about 7 years now) when Kerry's name will be above the marquee, and she will sell out giant houses. I think she is one of the most under-apprciated stars on broadway. =-(
Loving the 2nd season so far...

I don't watch the show, but I saw a commercial for it last night. Was Sarah Hyland also on it last season?

Yes Sarah was in it last season.
The best part about last night's episode was when Kim Raver's character went to go get plastic surgery, the doctor's office was on Park and 73rd...taken directly from A CHORUS LINE! I paused it and called my friend right away.
WithoutATrace, that made me smile and giggle. I sang the song the rest of the night
The first ep od S2 was... OK.
and unfortunately, the hottest guy on the show died in the episode last night...Christopher Cousins, who played Kim Raver's husband.
He's even hot when he's brushing his teeth!

WAT - I'm glad I wasn't the only one to crack up at the "Park and 73rd" reference.
And hottest guy? Did ya miss Kirby?
Yes, Kirby is good looking, but WAY WAY too young for my taste.
