What Musicals are in contention this year for the TONY's? Not who you think will get nominated, but the actual list of all musicals that came out this season? Thanks :)

Grey Gardens
Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas!
Mary Poppins
High Fidelity
Spring Awakening
Curtains
The Pirate Queen

Lovemusik
And for revivals:
A Chorus Line
Les Misérables
Company
The Apple Tree
110 in the Shade
Were any of these deemed special theatrical events, specifically The Grinch or Kiki & Herb?
Curtains and Grey Gardens are definites.
I think Kiki & Herb is in the special event category, with Jay Johnson: The Two and Only

Wouldn't Grinch be a special event too or something--the way Menken's Christmas Carol used to be? (Or was it even? )

This is nitpicking (sorry) but Legally Blonde should say Cambridge not Boston - Harvard is in Cambridge!
Which shows do you guys think are going to win?
For best musical, I think it's going to come down between Curtains, Spring Awakening and Grey Gardens, with Pirate Queen getting a nom. Thoughts?
My predictions:
Best Musical Nods:
Grey Gardens
Spring Awakening
Curtains
Legally Blonde or LoveMusik
Pirate Queen wont get a nod
It will be between Legally Blonde and Grey Gardens i think
In my heart, I want GG to win best musical. But, I think it'll be between LB and SA.
GG will get its fair share of awards (actress, featured actress and either book or score, hopefully, and maybe orchestrations and costumes)

So, of the long list of Musicals eligible, the ones which will sweep up most of the nominations will be;
PIRATE QUEEN
GREY GARDENS
LEGALLY BLONDE
SPRING AWAKENING
CURTAINS
LOVEMUSIK
With one or two for;
Mary Poppins (Set?)
Martin Short (??)
Just seems that way to me.
bwaygal1, I think that GREY GARDENS will win Leading Actress and Featured Actress, and hope for (though I have not seen LOVEMUSIK yet) it will win Book and Orchestrations. I feel that Book will be between GREY GARDENS, CURTAINS, and LOVEMUSIK. I believe that Score will go to SPRING AWAKENING, along with Best Featured Actor, and, barring a nomination for LEGALLY BLONDE, Best Musical. This is of course my opinion based only on all new musicals this season with the exception of LOVEMUSIK.
Sounds about right, Foster.
(Sincerely hope best actress, featured at the minimum.)
I actually would rather it win best score than book, because the score is so gorgeous.
(I adore Doug Wright and think he did a fantastic job but the score is so amazing. Can't stop listening!)
Is LoveMusik even eligible for best score?(because it's Kurt Weill's music, mostly).

How many nomination slots are there for reivval and best musical?
LoveMusik's score will not be eligible, however its orchestrations will be.
There are 4 nomination slots for Best Revival and Best Musical.

I really hope that A Chorus Line wins Best Revival!
Why do you guys all think Legally Blond is going to get a nod for best musical? I mean, last year, it probably would have won, but it's just too immature compared to most of this year's musicals to even get a nod.
For best leading actor, I think it may come down to David Hyde Peirce and Raul Esparza, based on reviews of them, but I haven't seen most of the shows up for nominations, so I'm probably not the best judge.

GREY GARDENS!!
Ok, wishful thinking, but I'm pulling for it completely.

I want Legally Blonde to win, but if it doesn't get nominated( which would be a surprise) then I would want Grey Gardens to win!

I agree with Bwaygal1's list of nominees. I think Grey Gardens and Spring Awakening are the real contenders to win. Pirate Queen doesn't have a chance. The buzz on Lovemusik is pretty strong. Should be an interesting few weeks...
I think at this point, Curtains, GG, and SA are locks. I think who gets the final spot (Blonde or Lovemusik) will depend on reviews, and who get the stronger ones.
