That would be Kristen Hertzenberg or Amanda Huddleston, but Sierra Boggess is the one who got Ariel.
Gee, I didn't already bring that up or nothin'.

OK you guys don't know who will be in it until Disney officially releases that information, so don't go around saying "this person will be Ariel", or "this person will be Ursula", etc etc. YOU DON'T KNOW. that's why this thread has the word "rumors" in it. just be patient and wait until they announce it, don't tell people what you believe or have "heard" because none of it is true until Disney releases that info.
Well, Sierra Boggess herself has said that she got the part...

Somewhere I heard that Sierra Boggess was offered the part, but she said she wasn't going to be for sure about it till end of February...I am still praying for Kerry because after the demo, she is the only person I see as Ariel :)....As for Sherie Rene Scott, I still am praying that she is Ursula because I am going in January to see it and Sherie is one of my idols! :)

"she said she wasn't going to be for sure about it till end of February"
And that's realy the truth in many cases. When actors audition or are called in to be seen, the wheels go into motion, if it's a favorable match, offers are made on both sides. It's more than just agreeing to a price. There's "opt out" options for career advancing opportunities, a set amount of personal away dates for concerts, etc.(IE: There is a popular "60 day opt out" clause, where an actor can sign a contract however if something more lucretive comes along, they have the option to cancel the frist commitment if it's within 60 days of the agreement date. This happend with Kristen Chenoweth 2 years ago as she was offered the Dusty Springfield film, I believe. About 10 days prior to the 60 day limit at a South Jersey venue. They quickly called in Patti Lupone and had to substitute).
8 out 10 times the rumors may be true, but until both sides negotiate and sign the contract, then the deal is set and the producers make the official announcement.
It's pretty much that way with many contracts. At least that's been my experience when I've put together contracts for my performers.
