She was fab! I've been looking for a video, but can't seem to find anything. This was much better than "The Today Show" I thought, 1-because she used her heelies this time, 2- the interview was more interesting, and 3- i felt like the camera work was better. I am begining to actually love this costume! The new tails seem to work better. <3 Sierra so much!
I must say it's hard for me to get beyond the fact that you can see her feet in heelies under the skirt. I really don't know what else they could have done, though, since they were anti-wires.
I was watching a few clips of the Dutch Little Mermaid musical and their mermaid swims pretty well on wires. I also watched a video of a Japanese Diseyland something or other where Ariel swam, but it was fairly cheap looking -- the actress was clearly bending her knees to get the swimming look -- and some of the commenters were saying that it's not comfortable to be on wires like that and difficult to sing; however, the Dutch actress did it just fine.
Anyways...

I think wires would've worked if done correctly. David Copperfield does a "flying" effect that almost looks like he's swimming underwater, especially at the very end of this vid.

The performance was more or less the same, but when they talked ot her on The View after she performed, she showed her wheeled shoes and demonstrated how she moves on stage. I didn't see it as a problem at all, though I suppose a six year old watching might have been disappointed to know she wasn't a real mermaid.
she did an amazing job! the poor girl has alot to make up for with the lack of blocking in that number. why the director just had her stand almost in the same place through the whole song i dont get. her acting was great and made up for it tho.
she was okay, but the costume (skirt with a tail) really detracted from any ambience she tried to capture - and the wheelies - UGH! no thank you!
emmadny, there is no need for that - they will post it when and if they get a chance, ok?
Here's the performance on THE TODAY SHOW to shut you up for now: http://youtube.com/watch?v=AyNMdpu8cYg
if you watch "the view" on a regular basis you'd know that whoopi has that ****ing "wtf?" and "puzzled" look on her face all day everyday... she's obnoxious... she's always got that look plastered on her face when anyone else but herself is talking... i never thought i'd say this but i miss rosie...
that being said, i thought she sang well but i still have no interest to see that show.. .

I'm so sick of everyone complaining about how she belts in that song.
If you listen to the orchestrations, the song builds up there, she had no choice but to go along with it and belt it. If she used a lighter voice there, it wouldn't match the orchestrations and it would make her sound like she can't hit those notes. The movie version of the song and this version are different and people need to stop complaining about it.
Brody, what can we do to get you to shut up forever?
No video of THE VIEW?
Ok, that's just plain annoying!

emmadny, Shut up.
Wanna Be A Foster --- there's one way to make me shut-up forever but unfortunately, you nor anyone on this board can afford it.
Until my quota is met -- I'll be here.
Like CATS: "...now and forever"
She is just awful. Her costume. Her voice. Her "acting", if you want to call it that. Girl needs some lessons.
Agh! Don't drag those innocent kittens into this...
My partner thought it was a performance of the theme park production.
Enough said.

Wow! If you think she's aweful and needs lessons, I'd like to know what you think is good? You should actually see her in the show rather than forming an opinion on her because you would know her "acting" doesn't suck.

i don't get why people are complaining about her belting. it's not a disney movie. its a broadway musical. it sounds alot more powerful for her to belt in the song on a live stage.

Is your partner deaf? I'm sure they made mention of it many times that it was the Broadway musical production.
