"Picture "The View," with the wisecracking, sympathetic sweethearts of that ABC television show replaced by a panel of embittered, suffering or enraged Arab women" -the Times review of Black Eyed
Secondly, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. I remember questioning a concept where actors would use hand puppets. Thought to myself, "How good can this show be?" and look how THAT ONE turned out.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Which poster? Which community? Which thread? C'mon, be specific!
And now where does the Betty Buckley rumor come from?

The skating comes from the "Mermaid Casting" thread on the 5th page I believe. the buckley one is new to me. None of my sources bear that out at all. SRS is what I have heard from some reliable sources.
Other than that, did you enjoy the play Mrs Lincoln?
Well they already had open calls, and they didn't ask for skaters. So...

I'm reminded of a thread (back in 2005) discussing the prospective LITTLE MERMAID musical and someone suggested a mermaid dress, or something equally ridiculous.
Salve, Regina, Mater misericordiae
Vita, dulcedo, et spes nostra
Salve, Salve Regina
Ad te clamamus exsules filii Eva
Ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes
O clemens O pia
people have insinuated on here that there would be skating, but it was not mentioned in the casting calls. is that common for them to just throw an important casting component on u? hey surprise you have to be able to skate! i really hope it isnt true...or that the mermaids dont skate and that only fish and other sea creatures. I hated how the ariel on ice looked...bell bottoms??? its not that impressive if she has fishy legs and then transforms...a fin is much more impressive!

Mmm, actually, the ensemble calls included dance combos on Heelys. They're having them redesigned to look sleeker, but it appears the roller skating is definitely a major slice of the concept for the show.
