That's awesome. I couldn't wait and got the recording when it came out....goddamn....last year? Two? I honestly don't remember. I hope it has some great photos in it. I just can't with Tammy's voice though. Woof.

hak5, who did we pre-order it from? Okay, I see Ghostlight Records. Could it possibly be available at the merchandise counter at the 9/21 show?

I got the digital copy when it came out... whenever that was... and have barely listened to it. It's better than the Broadway revival, but still can't hold a candle to either the original cast or movie soundtrack, even if it is the complete score.

Why is there excitement for this? It's been out and available to download for almost 2 years now.

Because some of us collect the physical copy rather than a download. To me downloads are for a song or two NOT an entire score

Been listening to the album, and I don't know about anyone else, but the whole album sounds like all tempos are slower than other albums. Anyone else think this?

FWIW, the original record's tempos are slower than they were in performance. I think must have been done consciously in both cases since the pacing of the show itself is quite... zippy.

I haven't listened to the new album yet, but I did really like the production and Tammy Blanchard's take on Audrey in particulary-- and the new orchestration of "Somewhere That's Green" is nice as I recall.

I don't understand the need to keep tweaking this score and arrangement.

I think the revival with Foster and Butler had a few tweaks musically that were welcome additions but this recording is like- getting further and further away from the tongue and cheek 60's sound the more he messes with it.

Little Shop is very if it's not broke don't fix it.

YES. The opening number in particular is soooooo slow. It’s that way in the show as well, not just the album. It kinda takes the energy out of the number. No idea why they slowed it down so much. While I enjoyed this production overall, I’d only listen to the recording again for Christian Borle’s performance.
