With NBC announcing 'Bye bye Birdie' as it's next live musical, 'Rocky Horror' come and gone, and 'Hairspray' soon to be seen, are you loving this phase of 'live musicals'?
Also, which one's so far have been your favourite, and what would you like to see in the future? [you can even put desired cast
]

I happen to really enjoy french onion soup. I use the recipe from the youtube channel "Tasty" that's based on Julia Child's recipe.

There is no need to be rude to this poster and his post!
I liked The Wiz and Grease. I would love to see lesser known musicals get a chance to shine in the format...to introduce them to larger audiences. I would really like if HBO got into the game and allowed some more adult musicals to be televised unedited.

You're not going to see lesser known musicals in this format. They've got to pull a wide audience to make it work financially and something most people especially those with a marginal interest in musical theater have never heard of or aren't familiar with is not going to be must see TV. You do something very familiar in this format so people tune in, get interested in the genre and then go out to see the lesser known musicals in the theaters. That's the only way I can see it working.

OP, just for the record, Rocky Horror was not a live musical.

I think it would be nice for TBS to air a live a Christmas story the musical during their 24 hours of a Christmas story.

Also, ABC TV's upcoming musical adaptation of DIRTY DANCING isn't "live" either - it was filmed.

It's sort of a game to come to these new posts only to see the OP knocked down in the second or third response. It seems not to be the exception, but the rule...
Carry on.
it was so hard for me not to respond to the "Will The Color Purple close thread..." My snark response would've been, "Yes; yes it will..."

Does anyone think that the European version of dance of the vampires would work well on the small screen?

I like them. I enjoyed The Wiz, Grease and the UK Sound of Music.

Maybe in Europe.
Or for HBO.

Could it work? Yes. Is it going to happen? No. The rights issue is a ****ing quagmire. Don't even get me started.

I wouldn't mind seeing Cabaret, or Chicago, or even Sweet Charity [I think I have Fosse fever]
