The typical Tony Annoucement day closing notice...I'm surprised it's Lombardi though..ah well it had a good run...

Oh well. I actually enjoyed this show. Laura and (especially) Light were excellent. Sad to see it go, but it did have a solid run.

Not a bad run at all. I think this is the first time I've seen a play open in the fall and last until springtime.

Had a good run, but it was inevitable. Now this theater is open for the Godspell revival in the fall.

And I think they achieved their purpose- bring in a different kind of theatre goer. ( in this case a lot of middle aged + men and women who remembered and cared about this man and his football)and like was said -had a decent run.

Gee, quizking, you really haven't been around long, then have you?

But yes, it lasted much longer than most expected.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Although I did not care for the show at all, it did have a much longer run than I expected and definitely appealed to some tourists/business travelers who otherwise may not have seen a show.

Is Godspell more of a certainty for the Circle than Oklahoma?! I am really keeping my fingers crossed Oklahoma gets its transfer after its run at Arena this summer...I mean, that is what it seems poised to do!

Do we "need" a revival of Godspell? Yes, I realize that there was the NT revival of Oklahoma and there hasn't been one of Godspell. But isn't the matter of "need" one of personal opinion? In MY opinion, I would much rather a revival of Oklahoma.

And then there's the fact that Oklahoma got stellar reviews. And, has Godspell been able to get their funding together? I recall them asking the public to be producers. The buy in was what $6K or something?

I think they lowered the cost of the buy in to like $1000. I think. They had some gala fundraiser for it a couple of weeks ago. A friend of mine went and I think handed over a check...will have to see if she has any updates.
