I'd try to find a friend willing to stand in line for both of you and just tell your friend you'd pay for both of your tickets (roughly $60 for both of you.)
Nevermind OY - I found out they start selling cancellation tickets after SRO. Gotta get out of the 10pm SRO line to get in the 7pm cancellation ticket line...I heard the best bet is to ask someone in 10pm SRO line to hold the spot while checking for 7pm cancellation tickets. I already saw the show on 8/3, but REALLY want to see it again, so I will just give 10pm cancellation a try if I can't get SRO or lottery for 7pm and 10pm. Attempting this on 8/17 (NPH's last night since OOT this weekend. I'm just glad I got to see it once regardless! It is a GREAT show (hence my going through the trouble to try to see it again :)
@bwaydreamer, thank you! I'm thinking of going once more to see it with Andrew Rannells @nyctechie08 - On 8/17, there is no 10pm show, only the 3pm and 7pm (which will be NPH's last performance.) I'd think for his last performance no one would cancel but hey, anything can happen!
You may have to call telecharge. I know you were saying you were checking out of curiosity. I did the same thing yesterday but when I went to buy my tickets telecharge timed out and and when I went back to buy the same tickets they were blacked out as if someone already bought them. So I called them and it was just the website. I bought my tickets without a problem over the phone untill I found out they charged 3 more dollars to the service charge over the phone. But I dont mind as long as I got the seats I wanted.
