I didn't even want to see the movie, so i also saw the musical first thinking it was going to suck and i loved it! the movie is not even close to the musical. The musical is soooooooo much better.

I bought the DVD of "Totally Awesome Edition" today.Just wanted to see the "A Backstage Look at The Wedding Singer on Broadway".I haven't seen the movie yet~hope it would be great as the musical!
I'm going to TWS again tonight!Soooooooo excited. This time I hope I could have the chance to meet the casts after the show.I've heard all of them are so nice to anyone.
GO~THE WEDDING SINGER~GO~
That's great! yes, they all come out and they are wonderful! The movie is not as good as the musical IMO. I didn't even know about this DVD? Where do they sell it?
Well, not ALL of the cast comes out. Of course, your chances of catching most of them are better after an evening show... haha, stupid me saw a matinee and only got to meet Stephen, Kevin Cahoon, and a couple of the ensemble. :p
Let us know how the show is tonight, Mikey!
He is seeing it today(Friday) everyone does come out after the show.
They may come out, but do they all stick around to actually do autographs/pictures? That's the question. LOL

I bought the DVD from Vergin store. It has many interviews with cast and production team. It's great but there is just one show clip at the end. I think it was filmed in Seattle. You can find information about the DVD in Amazon.

Really? You don't like the movie? I was hoping I would love it as well.
Wish TWS could release books like "The Making of TWS" or something. Just like Hairspray and Wicked did. With a bonus DVD would be AMAZING~
Does anyone know is Laura or Felicia going to do the show tonight?

Muscle, there is a featurette on the musical as an extra on the DVD.
Has anyone met Rita at the stage door? When I went she just walked by everyone. It was a shame because I really wanted to tell her how great she was.
Rita usually just walks on by. Everybody else seems to be good with signing, stopping, taking pictures, signing little kids (no lie) - whatever.
I saw The Wedding Singer in May and was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Yes, the songs are not that memorable and I didn't invest in the character relationships like other shows, but guess what---I laughed, laughed, and laughed again! The show IS funny. For me, TWS put COMEDY back into the term musical comedy. I would see it again.
That's great that you loved it so much!
Anyways, yes Rita usually walks on by, if someone grabs her she stays and signs and laughs and talks, but she is old and really wants to go home after the show. Leave Rita alone!

It seems like I'm one of the only people that actually likes the movie a lot. Of course, I grew up with it since my sister loved it. That's why I was excited about the musical at first then it's got an amazing cast and that just makes it 10 times better.

For fans of 'The Wedding Singer,' here's an interview we just did with Matthew Saldivar, who plays Sammy, and who'll be appearing with his band, The Petersons, on Monday, July 10, at 9:30 p.m. at Joe's Pub. Their guest will be Felicia Finley.

Good interview!
I was quite convinced, upon hearing about this show, that I would hate it. However, the performance at the Tonys won me over, and I've been listening to the music ever since. It's catchy, bubbly and fun; and yet it's more than just fluff, it has real heart. I am now very convinced of its fabulousness.

ooo thanks for the interview. I love the part when he's talking about fortune and the number three. and then goes on about the Wedding Singer chant that they do before the shows and at softball games. I've had the chance to witness the chant, not at a show or a softball game. a performance it was, but for national tv, and a gig. but hysterical nonetheless. hehe
and regards to the movie. its one of my favorite films from my generation. Sandler and Barrymore are nowhere near my favorite actors and this was the only film I could stand that they have made. now after seeing the musical five times, the film seems mediocre at best. Lynch to me is worlds better than Sandler, in both comedy, singing and acting. overall musical>movie
Me too, Adam is talented but no comparisson to Stephen, who is a triple threat. Stephen is the king of Broadway, no other leading man works as hard as he does 8/week.
