It was a fun watch. Kristen Chenowith came off as weird snd demonic. Some of the tributes were heartfelt. Towards the end I thought some of those queens were unnecessary.. A tad long.

She deserves so much better. We all deserve much better. I did like the Shirley Maclaine, Chita, and Jason Alexander tributes. All available to view without having to pay the $30.00.

Didn't understand why L didn't make a voice or video appearance to at least say thank you. Without that, it did feel like a memorial.

The thing with a tribute to performers is... What’s the point? You get some nice reminisces (and some egregious ones) and bizarre performances/semi-imitations like Chenoweth’s and Ute Lemper’s. Both ladies are fine performers, but I didn’t get it. Were they trying to out-Liza Liza? (And only Fred Ebb could convincingly do that!)
With a songwriter it’s different. But a tribute to a performer is always going to feel weirdly like a memorial, and even if Liza is slowing down or in semi-retirement, this one felt strangely macabre to me.
But I’m glad The Actors Fund got some money, and that people have affection for Liza.

Not sure if you’re on Instagram but lots of “non-theater” celebs and influencers were posting photos with and of Liza. Non-theater friends know who the woman is and probably weren’t reading all the posts. They were just seeing a stream of Liza Minnelli
