I think a lot of people were startled to hear how the song was actually written (no offense to Stritch).
^ That could be it too. Considering Patti didn't speak-sing the song. I wonder how she will sing it as Joanne?

I really hope this is recorded, since I'd love to see it. And has there ever been a Joanne-Bobby combination that wasn't a little creepy?

Barbara Walsh and Raul Esparza.
Ellen Krass, one of the producers, hinted at the possibility of it being recorded in this interview from November.

But can anyone explain why Barbara Walsh sang the entire role a quarter tone flat (at least on the video)?

Really hate to be "that guy", but I figured asking this here would be better than starting a new thread:
I've never been to the Philharmonic but just bought two seats in the first tier box 4. Considering they're labeled as "VIP" I'm sure they're great, but has anyone actually sat in the boxes? How is the view?
Dunno about Walsh. I loved her performance... Maybe she was trying to put her own spin on an iconic role...
Well look what this thread started!

There's an article on Broadway.com as well.

Of course you are.
Since it's such a brief engagement, I must admit, I would love to see NPH's close friends and co-workers Jason Segel and Alyson Hannigan as the couple he smokes pot with. Neither part has that much singing, and Segel loves to sing anyway.
Alyson Hannigan HATES to sing and dance,in the Buffy musical episode, she asked them to give her as little as possible. Ca't see her agreeing to do it live.
I wonder who will sing my favorite, "Another Hundred People"? I vote for Jenny Powers.

My choice would be Nicole Scherzinger.
"I think a lot of people were startled to hear how the song was actually written (no offense to Stritch)."
Wasn't the song originally written for her???
I don't know, actually.
I just meant that Stritch didn't sing the song as written, necessarily.Of course, her version is legendary--and the original. But I don't think it's quite what's on paper.
My boyfriend bought tickets tonight for the Saturday matinee. SO EXCITED! :)
I just thought of Karen Olivo as Marta. I think she'd nail it.
*insert joke about her attendance here*

Honestly, I think Olivo has a tendency to force her voice, and wouldn't sound that great on Another Hundred People.
I do think it's a great idea for Marta to be played by a woman of color, though. In so many words, she asks Robert if he knows any people of color (it's clear he doesn't). Since he has such a homogeneous, insular group of friends, I think it works for Marta to be a woman or color.
Although not a Broadway actress or even a theatre singer, I think Kate Miccuci would be a GREAT Marta. YouTube her. :)
Still crossing my fingers for Sara Ramirez as Marta

Would LOVE to see Benanti as Amy, but,I can't help but think how cool it would be to see Jason Danieley and Marin Mazzie as Paul and Amy.
Who would you guys like to see as Harry? I can't even come up with possibilities and it's killing me!
A fifty year old Amy? Even in a concert version, that wouldn't work.
