In an article in Florida Naples Weekly from December 30th, she said this about the projects that she has lined up:
“I’m doing New York City Ballet, ‘Seven Deadly Sins,’” she said. “But first, ‘Company,’ with the New York Philharmonic."
I think it's interesting that she said something about it when it hasn't officially been announced. I don't think anyone's surprised, though.

Not surprising. But it is exciting!
Certainly no surprise, but still exciting news!
We already know Patti sings a killer "Ladies Who Lunch." The real fun now will be to see how she interprets the song as Joanne.
It has pretty much been confirmed that this is being recorded for television and/or release, correct?
Not surprising news, but disappointing nonetheless. I bought tickets to Company for my daughters for Christmas, and I secretly hoped that that one of them would have a conflict, and I would just have to go in her place. Now, I hope they can all make it. Hopefully, her performance will be significantly different from what we saw on the Sondheim birthday celebration.
oh my goodness how fun!!!
have we heard her "Little Things"?
Patti LuPone saying "When are we going to make it?" to Neil Patrick Harris disturbs me a little, I must say.
Imagine Elaine Stritch saying it to Larry Kert...

Thanks for ruining my day...
She said it to me at the stage door the other week.

PalJoey at least Elaine's got legs. What does Patti have besides more than ten years than those needed to play this role...
Patti's got pretty nice legs, too.

I just hope they keep "Tick-Tock," particularly if they are filiming it.

That's why I keep suggesting Jessica Goldyn for that role.

^ Agreed.
I also hope they don't bring Kendra Kassebaum in for Amy. She proved at 5th Avenue and the Roundabout ALNM that she doesn't have the speed for Sondheim patter songs. Personally, I'd like to see Debra Messing.

if it's being done with the philharmonic will they have enough space for the dance to be executed?
if not i'd still like the song played, it's a great arrangement.

^ Donna McKechnie did it in the small amount of space in the 1992ish reunion concerts.
I would hope since it's been announced they're doing the original orchestrations, that it means it'll still be in there.

All they need to do now is get Laura Benanti and Steven Pasquale to be Amy and Paul and I'm a happy camper.

You obviously didn't see Patti in her sexy VERGE costumes....

Absolutely. Her cup almost runneth over a few times she was 'pushed up' so much...

Let's hope she doesn't do her bossa nova "Ladies" this time. Bleeecccchhhh.
Considering the song was written as a bossa nova...
