I wish Kecia hadn't started this mess with that call out video, but here we are.

Well, last time I checked Sherie had white skin. It is obvious that Patti is not a racist - Patti is just Patti. She is only called a racist because she called a black person a bitch instead of a white person a bitch this time and we apparently hold different standards for how a white woman can talk to a white woman vs a black woman. I guess Patti is from a different era where she treats PEOPLE as PEOPLE by the content of their character, not by the colour of their skin as it seems people prefer to do today.
Anyway, if you've all successfully cancelled Patti - whatever. It's the end of her career and she can have the last laugh when Audra loses the Tony."
She actually said she bullied her the entire process. It was an anecdote, didn't say that behavior made her racist. Yall so damn hard of comprehension skills. It speaks to her character as a person, racist are often also bullies. "She is only called a racist because she called a black person a bitch instead of a white person a bitch this time and we apparently hold different standards for how a white woman can talk to a white woman vs a black woman." DING DING DING. *impressed face*... wow so you do get it? Yes that IS a huge part of what makes it racist. *Blank mf'in stare* Yup most 71yr old privilege white ladies are closer to her than say ummm Jane Fonda, but that era certainly ain't view people as people, laughable absurd comment absent historical context.
Last laugh, she still will have 6, or 11 noms. White colonial thought and supremacy culture has society so lost on simple ****. Audra doesn't NEED to win the 7th Tony, is there a performance better no and does she deserve it on sheer talent alone yes, but that's besides the point. You don't need the award when you are the literal forever, nobody coming close to touching you no time soon, Queen of the Tony Awards and Broadway. She could never win again and it wouldn't change a single thing about what she has done or who she is.

"What racist thing did she say? We'll wait." Oh this is you too? It makes sense now, of course the one who is socially blind would make light of Black ancestral traditions. Keep going though, I'm sure you are making YOUR ancestors very very proud

The League and the Theatre Wing are currently being asked by a quickly overwhelming group of artists and creativesto remove her from the Tony Nominating Committee and invalidate any votes she may have already sent it. She has shown public racist bias amongst nominees and many other things thatinvalidates her from being a voter. Argue on this thread all you want, the dominos are falling and they have real life consequences.
That's an "interesting" take -- since Patti is not even ON the Nominating Committee -- she's just a regular voter.

I'm in no way defending or endorsing any of her actions -- but if you're determined to lead the "cancellation committee" -- please try and get your facts straight.

"Um...I was under the impression that most of this board agrees that Patti is the a-hole in this situation? Maybe more reading comprehension and less BIG OUTRAGED REACTIONS and people would take you more seriously around here."
Team No One. They're both a-holes.
Patti is a notoriously terrible person who has routinely been sh--y so many people throughout the years. She gave an interview that was literally just her screaming at people and insulting nearly every person mentioned, making her seem like someone any sane person would avoid. (Audra was the person she was the least terrible to, the one person she held her tongue about, yet somehow that became the big controversy.)
Kecia Lewis is a narcissist who wanted attention with her condescending video taking a private matter public, got it, and is no doubt thrilled that's back again. So many people stroking her ego about what a veteran she is (a veteran who somehow doesn't know how sound issues are handled, or pretended not to for attention). You just know she's grabbing every copy of the New Yorker she can find, crowing, "They're talking about ME! MY NAME is in print! KECIA KECIA!!!"
It's a cagematch with no winners, just two losers.

Yes the Voting committee, not the nominating comm. It was a adhd typing error. I'm not leading anything, moving with my community. Do you feel better? Doesn't change anything else I said...

Bold statement when Glee did a better performance of "Rose's Turn."

It's Broadway Flash 2.0.
Perhaps this has been mentioned in the countless posts on this thread, or perhaps not: but there is a letter being circulated and signed by a growing number of Broadway artists who are making demands of the Broadway League and American Theatre Wing against LuPone.
These include:
Disinviting LuPone from the Tonys this year and for several years
Requiring a public apology to Lewis, McDonald, and AEA
Commit to holding artists accountable in upholding the dignity of other industry members
It's currently signed by over 300 names, including some Tony nominees, and growing as we speak. Should be published tomorrow. Very curious if this is something that will actually, finally, get Patti to apologize. She likely won't, but I've never seen folks mobilize like this.

Add me to the chorus of “she’s not racist, she’s just a bitch.”
This thread is absolutely insane. Oharafossewolfe, you are making a fool of yourself. More than anyone else on this thread, which is quite an achievement.

I mean it's typical of a white person to try to police what makes them uncomfortable so...yes. Banned for what un-evolved soul?
