With a nice cameo from Jefferson Mays! Didn't notice him the first time.
Kate Rockwell already has me laughing. I'm still not sold on Louderman.

This trailer is effing hilarious. They got the tone and comic timing so perfect
That trailer... I'm already dying!! They all look perfect. Rockwell and Park nail their roles in just those 30 seconds. Louderman looks sensational, too, but I hope she develops more of Regina's firmer/stronger speaking voice. Regina speaks seductively, but not softly and sweetly like she did in the trailer. Regina has a firmness to her that I'm sure Taylor will be able to get once she's in the role!
Oh my god, Ashley and Kate are perfect! Taylor's delivery at the beginning is too much like a stereotypical mean girl you see on Disney Channel. But, she sounded great on her line with Ashely. Taylor's movements and facial expressions are great

I love Legally Blonde. Aside from a few songs, I thought the lyrics were strong so I was super happy with Nell Benjamin getting attached to this project. I find that Jeff Richmond's songs on 30 Rock and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt work as vehicles for the jokes but the melodies are very simplistic or unexceptional pastiche. I'm hoping for the best but I'd be more excited if, say, the team from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend was working on this.
Legally Blonde and Heathers couldn't sustain long runs but I feel like Mean Girls could be more of an Anastasia. If it's good, the fan base will show up for it.
I saw the video earlier and it got me SO excited for the show! They were all perfect!

They did. I think they will reupload it with a new official show account.
So which number will have an unnecessary tap dance break? Or will the show end with a 20 minute ballet about being a mean girl?
i assume if they keep any of the christmas talent show there will be probably be a dance number there
Wait, the Mathletes won't tap dance? How else do you solve calculus problems in a musical?

The tap number does not exist!

Barrett Wilbur Weed commented on one of Grey Henson's instagram post about tapping. I can't find it but I did see it so perhaps Janis and Damian have a tap number. I feel like a tap number would seem silly and out of place in this show (granted we haven't seen anything of it). Really I feel like this show shouldn't be like a big dance show, but it is Nicholaw and there are some crazy dancers in the ensemble. I just don't find Nicholaw that interesting of a director. His shows to me are always fun but extremely basic. I'm hoping for the best though :)
You really can't see these two having a tap number together?

Actually I can't. When I actually see the show and I could love it, but I can't picture it. I could very well be proven wrong.
Jeff Richmond composed the score of Hamlet! The Musical for Second City and it starred Alexandra Billings as Gertrude. It was a two-act with an interstitial featuring highlights from the fake "creators" of Hamlet! The Musical. It was a perfect send up of musical tropes. He has the skill and obviously a love of the form and will be perfectly capable with Tina of creating a solid piece of musical theater entertainment.

I actually like this better than the version where they're facing forward
They tweeted the trailer and I couldn't be more excited: https://twitter.com/MeanGirlsBway/status/907240081949433856
Has Tina Fey ever been asked about the Heathers film when discussing Mean Girls? Like, has she ever explicitly said that the former influenced the latter?
They do feel very similar at first- minus the morbidity of Heathers- but I hope the musical styles and quirky charm of Mean Girls will set it apart.
Eager to hear how the cheese fries they've been selling today are. Apparently Tina Fey herself is giving them out!
I just got back from the event- the cheese fries are indeed very thick and tasty, but unfortunately I missed Tina Fey. She was only there in the first hour or so. It was still really fun to see the excitement of the fans...and get a free pair of sunglasses. Here I am in front of the photo wall!

I went today hoping to see Tina but since she was in the truck and photographers were surrounding it, so you really couldn't see her unless you got to the front of the line. I think she left at around 11:30 and line was moving really slowly while she was there. They did give away a ton of sunglasses and were signing people up for chance to win tickets. Cheese fries were delicious, even if Tina didn't hand them to me.

Regina is supposed to be effortlessly cool and confident. Taylor Louderman's Regina, with her affected, breathy voice and pageant hair, totally misses the mark. I also don't like how they changed the line from, "They're not ****," to "They're not idiots." This show isn't going to work if it tries to be PC. Part of what made the movie so true and relatable was how casually offensive The Plastics were without even thinking twice about it. I was really excited for this show, but the promo was a big disappointment.
It's less than a minute long PROMO. Wait for the show to actually come out lol. With Tina Fey writing the book, I strongly doubt it will be PC (what is considered PC anyway, I think it's a severely overused term diluting whatever meaning it used to have).
