Does anyone know if the filmed version will be released ever for personal viewing?
Oh, and what about Company. I was busy with a show and couldn't get around to see it in the movie theater

No word yet if either one will be getting a DVD release (most likely yes), but SHREK: The Musical...
Show Title: SHREK: The Musical
Filmed at: The Broadway Theatre
Date(/s) Filmed: October 2009
Length (minutes): TBD
Cast Filmed: Original Broadway Cast
Production Company: Dreamworks Animation
Shrek the Musical was filmed October 2009 at the Broadway theater. Per The Hollywood Reporter, during a presentation of third-quarter financial results, Dreamworks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg noted that SHREK: The Musical was filmed and will be released on DVD in “unique packaging”. No further details were announced, and no updates on the project were given since October 2009.

ohkay. I guess I don't even care about DVD release- just digital haha.
Shrek will never happen
I don't get why they just don't air it on PBS or release it on itunes. I mean, the show exists and is just sitting at Dreamworks.
I hope they company and memphis come out soon. . . . its been a while for memphis.

I'd rather they film one of the current productions of Shrek so the DVD would have "Forever" instead of "Donkey Pot Pie."
I'm still not convinced that whatever they filmed of the Broadway production will be officially released.

I was browsing through Netflix tonight and discovered that both Memphis and Company are both available for streaming! Company is also available for DVD.
I didn't realize Memphis had been released so soon. If I had known, I would have waited, instead of spending $20 to see it in the movie theater.

Posted: 7/16/11 at 2:13amThat is surprising. I haven't heard so much of as a whisper about Netflix. Either way, just turned my blu ray player on. Memphis time. :)

Nice to see it finally! Fun show. The end of "Memphis Lives in Me" was a bit disappointing compared to the cast recording though.
MEMPHIS DVD#14
Posted: 7/16/11 at 5:20pmThe end was pretty dreadful. Looks like I'm going to paste the cast recording over that when I rip the songs.

Posted: 7/16/11 at 6:05pmSo I started streaming it. Five minutes into it Chad Kimball seems even more "special" than he does live. I didn't think that was possible.

So now who can rip that onto a DVD? LOL
You're **** out of luck on that one unless someone can use screencap software to get a good quality video.

Posted: 7/16/11 at 10:22pmYou must be a masochist, Jordan. I haven't seen the show live but based on that taping, Kimball is giving one of the most singularly obnoxious performances I've ever seen in a musical.
