Posted: 7/26/07 at 9:57pmNo, thankyou.
re: MUST SEE Shows This August. #105
Posted: 7/30/07 at 7:33pmWell, unexpectadly, I can only see 4-5 shows, which means I have to completely rethink it all. Now I'm starting to wonder if F/N and XanadU are really worth it...

I would say, if you are still in the process of choosing...
Mary Poppins
Legally Blonde
Curtains
Grease
and even though it will be around for years, Wicked is always a hit with most...I'm not saying everyone....but a lot of people enjoy it =]

I'm seeing Wicked in Boston in October...
This is my rough list:
Curtains
Mary Poppins
Hairspray
Spring Awakening
XanadU or Drowsy
re: MUST SEE Shows This August. #108
Posted: 7/30/07 at 7:46pmI'd say do Xanadu over Drowsy. Drowsy's coming to Boston (I'm so psyched!!!! Hahaha okay done) and you can see it here.

Does anyone know how partial view box 10 is at MP?
I really wish I could find some cheap SA tickets... How is the rear mezz?

I can't say about Mary Poppins. I think the more time you have between the show you're seeing and the time you get tickets decides the prices. I pulled up August 31st for $30, and then August 15th, the same box, for $50. Of course I'm not sure, just a guess.
I think you have a good list! Enjoy your trip!

re: MUST SEE Shows This August. #113
Posted: 7/30/07 at 9:34pmi went ot see SA about 3 weeks ago and i was in the second to last row in the mezz on the left side, and i thought the view was very good :) i htink the ticket cost was about 66.50 for a ticket? im not sure, but something in that range :)
re: MUST SEE Shows This August. #114
Posted: 7/30/07 at 9:36pmHow do you specify a box with ticketmaster?
LIVE THAT LESSON!!!!!!
re: MUST SEE Shows This August. #115
Posted: 7/30/07 at 9:45pmYou don't, really. It's just left or right side. Hm, I wonder how box 10 is... are the first couple of rows in the balcony really scary (I'm extremely scared of heights.) I feel like it would be horrible to not even be able to focus on the show if you're afraid you're going to fall and die the entire time... but that's just me.
re: MUST SEE Shows This August. #116
Posted: 7/30/07 at 9:52pmthen I don't recomend doing box seats. I saw mezz., and when I saw the balcony too, it freaked me out. It seemed to be quite steep, so I can't see myself sitting up there. But the show is really great.

well, my friend got the tickets at the box office and yeahh lol.
+ well i dont really like heights either ( actually HATE them lol), but this was my first time in the mezz so i didnt think our seats were gunna be that high, but i was ok after the first few mins because i had to get used to it and i did :) just consentrate on the show and if you have any problems then i guess just find an usher,( i saw a few people get up and go places when i was there during the show).
just dont think about falling or anything because then you wont enjoy the show and i didnt think it was that bad and i HATE hights, and i was in the second to last row which was pretty high for me.
re: MUST SEE Shows This August. #118
Posted: 7/30/07 at 9:59pmEven the mezz is that high? *faints*
re: MUST SEE Shows This August. #119
Posted: 7/30/07 at 10:04pmI didn't think the mezz. was too high. Maybe its because I don't have a problem with heights. Just the fact that the balcony is so steep. I had box seats for the producers, and was dozing off during the show, and kept freaking out about falling. although it wasn't too far from the ground.
re: MUST SEE Shows This August. #120
Posted: 7/30/07 at 10:11pmwell, i thought it was high because im not used to hights really, and it was my fist time in the mezz. but thats just me, and i was basically fine i just had to get used to it. but still i was at the top and that was high to me lol.
re: MUST SEE Shows This August. #121
Posted: 7/30/07 at 10:13pmtrue, lol. It obviously depends on your personal fear of heights. I sat last row in the balcony/mezz. for Hairspray, whichever it was (last & highest row in the theatre) and it didn't freak me out to badly.

Posted: 7/30/07 at 10:52pmHas anyone seen Tom Crean: Antarctic Explorer yet at the Irish Rep? I'm looking into it as a (relatively) short and inexpensive evening. Already got my Xanadu ticket for August and picking up RENT shortly as well...just working out the details for the rest and hoping for SRO at Les Mis.

My final decision:
8/14- Mary Poppins
8/15- Curtains
8/15- Hairspray
8/16- Spring Awakening
8/17- I need to run this with my mom, but I'm gonna try for XanadU.
