Because whomever the clues were about backed out and that was why anyone that submitted a guess was entered for the giveaway because the clues were no longer relevant.

Posted: 1/30/19 at 11:51pmHave we seen him do a comedic role of this style before? He’s got a great voice, and wonderful dancer obviously, but just trying to imagine him doing something of this nature. I guess there is the whole Zangler thing in Crazy For You. Was he funny in that?

I'm really curious now how his American Songbook concert went a few days ago. No one seemed to have any reports on attending it. I'd love to know if he kept it all classic Broadway song and dance numbers or if he did anything a bit more contemporary like the Pimpernel score is. I mean it's not TODAY contemporary but it's far a far more modern feel to the score then.... pretty much anything I have ever heard him perform.
Anyone see him in Prince of Broadway? I think he did a few songs in that a bit more in line here. Hmmm, note to self, look up that cast recording tomorrow.

Does anyone happen to know which version of the show they're doing? I'm assuming the most recent incarnation, but as I'm listening to the OCR, I kind of wish "Vivez" would be included - in that dumb nostalgic sort of way.

Posted: 2/8/19 at 8:38amSo happy I found this information. I saw This show when it was on broadway on 1997...saw it 3 times. It was fantastic the first two times with Doug Sills in the lead. Once he left and they started to change things up, it lost its shine. Going to get tickets for this and hope it’s a great evening. I still play this soundtrack in the car.

I am also super curious to see what version of the show they use! Some of my favorite songs from the show were cut throughout the different versions, but I REALLY hope they are still somehow incorporated into the concert (especially "Only Love"
.

Wow, they cut "Only Love" out?? I haven't looked into all the cuts throughout the years - I adore that one! But I do like having Storybook in the first act, so I'm torn.

In the Backstage video on BWW, Nan talks about the changes. "Believe" is back as the wedding song, "You Are My Home" is back in the prison scene (which I assume means "I'll Forget You" is cut but we'll see) and there's a new song for the finale.

I am interested in what the line up of songs is going to be because all the songs that have been in this show but perhaps have been cut at one point or another are pretty great songs but they just can't keep them all in there. They are great songs but not great together. I will lament any songs that are not in this but rejoice any that were previously cut but put back in. Also SUPER happy that the sibling song is back to being just that and not the love song any more. Always bothered me about the revised version.

Posted: 2/9/19 at 4:12amIt seems like they’re reverting back to something closer resembling the original Broadway song stack. I wonder if the revisions she mentioned are the only ones or if there are more changes. I’ll be curious to find out if “Storybook” will be the opening number or restored to its original spot in act two. What about “Only Love?” If moving “You Are My Home” back to the prison scene means we lose “I’ll Forget You” I will miss that one.

If "Storybook" does not open the show night after the glorious overture, I will be deeply upset.

Yes it will REALLY be a crime if "Storybook" is not the opener as it's leaps and bounds better an opener. The original opening scene and number was a masssssiiiiiveeee dark downer. Plus, in context of the book, it's so much cleaner on the plot. The revised opening gave some much needed exposition and introduction to the characters as well as showed the action that caused the rift that forms between Percy and Margarette. The original wanted you to think she was a spy for most of the first act and made it hard to feel for her until that was revealed. And Madame Guillotine as Chavlin's song with an ensemble behind him is a stronger piece as well.
Meanwhile in the original, we don't really know who Percy or Margartte are. You meet them at their wedding and just kinda got messly told their backstory in the scene that followed. And Chavlin was just there in passing but you didn't really MEET him and get his connection to the others until well into the first act. Really not until Falcon in the Dive.

I still feel like the licensed version, which I believe is the tour version 4.0 or something, plays the best but if this concert is largely that revised book just with "Believe" and "You Are My Home" reinstated in their original slots, I'd be curious to see how that plays. Not sure about a new finale. With "Believe" back in they could have just used the original finale.

If they don't use "Only Love" or "I'll Forget You" Marguerite won't have a solo in the second act. How was "Only Love" used in the original production anyway? Was Marguerite in love with the Pimpernel? Did she know he was really Percy?

"Only Love" took place in the foot bridge scene where she meets him but BEFORE he arrives as the Pimpernel, he first shows up at himself. They talk and she basically confronts him head on with how he's changed. It's basically her plea to her husband that she still loves him and wants the old him back. He then leaves and returns moments later as the Pimpernel and the scene goes on as in the revised version where she reveals she was basically blackmailed. She leaves, he sings "She Was There" which survived into the revised version.

Thank you. That makes more sense. "Only Love" was recycled into Rudolf now though, right? So it's unlikely it would be used in Pimpernel again?

Kind of strange to have what was originally a reprise of "You Are My Home" now as a "prequel" popping up in the first act before the actual song later in the second act. It's not unheard of, but I'm surprised they kept it.

I'll be curious to find out if "Caught in the Middle" is a new song or "The Riddle" in disguise.
