Was anyone there last night? Anyone planning to go?
His speaking voice sounded pretty rough in the video interviews posted yesterday. I hope he's up for this.

He recently sat down for a series of interviews with the American Archive of Television and I was shocked at how horse he sounded. I’m curious too to hear how his singing voice is holding up.
Did he whinney?
Does anyone have a run time on this?

Honestly, it was better than I had expected after seeing him on GMA and someplace else during the pre show media blitz last week.
I'm sure his production crew, background singers and band are using every trick in the book to help cover him. That said, it was an enjoyable show. I've seen him a number of times and he really reaches into his catalog here. The rarer songs were refreshing since there were a couple of bits he recycles from prior concert tours and he's still using a lot of the same jokes.
If you like Manilow, it's an enjoyable night.

Good. At least he is putting on a good show. He will be at the Hollywood Bowl next month with Lorna Luft. Last time I saw him there they also used every tricking the book to cover his voice. But it didn't matter. He put on a good show.
What tricks? Are we talking pre-recorded tracks or what?

No. I don't think so. His background vocalist certainly help . They blend in with him and make the sound richer. ( I am commenting from having seen him a few years ago). And good sound mixing.. But I didn't think at the time he was using a pre recorder track, He also knows how to sell a song without necessarily having a great vocal.

That's good, every time I ever saw him, he did 89 minutes like there was a Vegas boss in the back of the room looking at their watch...
I cannot believe he does not have any wrinkles. I wonder what his secret is?

Don't ask him. He still denies he's had any work done.

I saw this the other night and had a marvelous time. I thought Manilow sounded great and put on a terrific show.

Ignorant people feel it necessary to crap on hugely successful artists who have maintained a nearly 50 year career with a rabid fan base.
