For those interested Leslie Margherita is playing Esmerelda and Tom Hewitt is Frollo in the West Coast premiere of Hunchback at La Mirada. Not sure if this was already news.

Are they marketing it as the west coast premiere? It already played at the La Jolla Playhouse.

I just check the website for the La Mirada theatre and I do not see Hunchback listed. Is it part of their 16-17 season?

The audition notice was posted earlier today. I'd link it, but for some reason Playbill's website isn't loading anything posted after April 1st currently, although I know there were more up about two hours ago. Weird.

It is part of the 2016-2017 season, but isn't the West Coast premiere since the actual premiere in the US was at La Jolla in San Diego. Also, haven't seen this cast announced anywhere.

Oh yeah, Lesli is perfect for this!! Except, you know. Her skin tone! Which is a huge aspect of the character. But like, whatever.

Esmeralda is white. At least in the book. In the movie they made her more Romani-looking (because they removed the whole back story of her parentage), but I don't know how they've written her in the stage version.

She isn't white in the musical. I've seen it. It's...whatever, I guess. She has a darker complexion. Whatever.

Ha ha... For those of us living in Los Angeles, La Mirada is not in Los Angeles. However, I've seen some of the La Mirada productions, and they've been worth the drive!

West Coast premiere was my wording! But I was looking at the casting directors website and they had those two listed as appearing in the show, and if you look at the notice those two roles are listed as cast.
