According to the cast board, it looks like Erik Altemus is going on as Pippin today.
Apparently Lolita Costet is out too. I hope that doesn't mean they are going to be cutting back on the acrobatics . . .
Lolita is not out. Viktoria has been doing just the Bolero part for the past month.

Thanks for clarifying! I was wondering why there was no swing listed.
GAH! I saw this too late. I would have gone.
I would love to hear his "Corner of the Sky". Hopefully I'll catch him eventually.

So did anyone see Erik in the show today? i wonder how he was in the part. I hope he takes over the role when Matthew leaves. I'd go back to NYC to see Erik in the role. I liked Matthew in the part but Erik was so impressive even in the smaller role of Lewis that I figured he would make another great Pippin someday.
I will admit that this is a show where recasting a bunch of the leads is going to be a challenge. I mean Andrea Martin and Terrence Mann will be difficult to replace and finding someone to take the place of the fiercest goddess on Broadway, Patina Miller, is gonna be really hard!

Patina might stick around for a bit. She did Sister Act for a while, and she was willing to stay even longer than she did, but they were bringing in Raven.

Marian Seldes has already been approached about replacing Martin.
Who was in for Erik? Colin Cunliffe or Billy Tighe?
Lolita was out today. Kelsey was on in her track (minus Viktoria who does bolero and has for the last month)
If he doesn't replace Matthew, Maybe he will Do the Tour? Assuming the tour is Equity...

Colin Cunliffe was on for Lewis.
Colin was on as Lewis? Woof. Mad I missed it.

I was wondering if he was going to be out today. He sounded a little rough last night.
Edit and they have the CD signing and a show on Tuesday.

Wow, missed Erik as Pippin by ONE show, and I asked him about when he was going on too! Hope to catch him someday...
They have now added a Pippin standby to the cast, Billy Tighe. Once he is properly rehearsed, I have a feeling Erik Altemus will be going on for Matthew James Thomas a whole lot less frequently (if at all).

Damn, that sucks! I hope that the standby is fierce.
The Leading Player seems much more worthy of a standby than Pippin. I wonder if Patina will get a standby soon.

They have 2 already. Stephanie Pope and Molly Tynes.
There's a difference between an understudy and a standby. I agree that the LP seems more worthy of a standby than Pippin.
Billy is not a stand-by. He is a new swing in the show who will be understudying Pippin and Lewis, with Erik remaining first cover for Pippin.
It should be noted that Billy is already being trained as a swing to cover the "normal" ensemble and leads but also in gymnastics- maybe to cover some of the less strenuous circus tracks?

good, because there were parts of the show Sat night where the stage looked empty compared to other nights. There were about 4 people missing Sat night (players).
