Does anyone know what Memphis will be performing on the View tomorrow morning?

According to the blog at www.memphisthemusical.com, it looks like it'll be 'Underground' and 'Memphis Lives in Me.' Hooray!

So Whoopi introduced the 'Memphis' segment today by saying, 'One of the best times I've ever had on Broadway recently was seeing the hit musical 'Memphis,' co-created by legendary Bon Jovi keyboardist David Bryan,' who was sitting in front of Whoopi. J. Bernard Calloway and Montego Glover led the dancers in 'Underground,' and then Chad Kimball came on and sang 'Memphis Lives in Me.' Terrific! Whoopi announced that 'Memphis' was now playing at the Shubert and that everyone in the audience at 'The View' would be getting an original cast album and a pair of tickets to 'Memphis.' I imagine BWW will be posting video of this segment soon.
It is getting ready to come on here.
Wayman,
THANK YOU for the recap! I’m at work so I knew I was going to miss it. And I don’t have DVR so I will wait until someone uploads it on youtube.
I just about fell off my chair (okay, not really!) when I read the part “everyone in the audience at 'The View' would be getting an original cast album and a pair of tickets to "Memphis”. They are so so so lucky and I hope they enjoy the free show.

I watched the performance on the View and, while I found most of the performers very enjoyable, I thought (and I know I'm probably alone feeling this way)----that the one woman just screams and screams! It is that number that is played on the radio to give a sample of the show and I always mute it. Again---I'm sure I'll be blasted for feeling this way. I want to like it---but I'm not really inspired to see it based on this sample.

Ooof. That high note at the end did not sound good. Probably cause it was so early in the morning, but still, yikes.
Oh man, that really sucks that he could not hit that high note. I’m sure he is feeling pretty bad himself. Especially when this is airing in millions of people’s home. Maybe this is why they gave out the free tickets and CD...

I worked the show last week and a few days the week before and he didn't hit it then either.
except for that bad note at the end, it looked very good.
They should pre-record the note if he's having trouble with it. All the Christines get to pre-record some of their notes. Why not Chad?
Ouch to that last note. Yeesh.

Of the 2 times I have seen the show, he did not bother with that last note.
Ooo...Chad's last note...ouch.

He sang it, and sang it well when I saw it. It is a pretty high note, and especially considering how much smoking he's doing up there his voice must be so dry by the time he gets there.

It IS a pretty high note, and I imagine Chad's performance is probably affected by how warmed up he is, how early it is, etc. Also, Huey looks like a killer role to sing 8 times a week. (Has he even missed many shows yet?) Anyway, here's a clip from a performance Chad did in Shubert Alley where he goes really high, and he doesn't even go that high on the cast album. Still, the exposure of national TV is good news, especially for a new original musical that out-of-towners don't know, and today, the N.Y. Times is running a big piece about how 'Memphis' made its way to Broadway (and reportedly turning a profit!).

He nailed it at Broadway on Broadway as well. I was really impressed, cause that's pretty early in the morning to be that high. The issues now must just be the continued run, I wonder how he did in the previous runs out of town.
Memphis at Broadway on Broadway (Best version I could find)
That last note is a motherf-er. An E vowel, in full voice, at that pitch, coming of an M consonant...talk about truckloads of placement.
Does anyone have another link? The Youtube vid has been removed.
I would also like another link. What is that high note?
I'm pretty sure he flips up to D and then finishes on A...anyone agree?

Yup! The highest note in that little run is a D5. Pretty high up there!
Thanks Pianist!
So D above high C is D5? I've always written my range as E2 to E4...have I got the labelling wrong? Should I be saying E3 to E5?
