Liberace On Broadway

But the movie was awful...
Nathan Lane would play the Matt Damon part, obviously.
I was just wondering about this yesterday. BWW had reported last year that there was a Liberace musical in the works, but I haven't heard anything about it since.
I'd love to see Nathan as Liberace.
I thought the movie was great. I'm intrigued...
So Jackman & Chenoweth now both have 27 new musicals each in the works.
Casting a show that doesn't exist yet seems like a great idea.
But what Tony awards would it be eligible for?
All of them!
And the show curtain will be amazing.
This might be too early to ask but does anyone know where rush seats are located?
More importantly:
What does the curtain look like
Does Jackamn/Lane stage door
Can someone please post a song list
The rush seats are located in special onstage "piano" seats. Inside Liberace's piano!
Awesome!!!!! Hopefully they have good merch. I want a candelabra!!!
I saw candelabras, stuffed Liberace dolls, and poppers!
It does seem like quite the pointless article.
However, I'm really surprised that Garber is 64!!! Wow. Man looks good.
But the movie was awful...
I guess its safe to assume you didn't see the recent HBO film BEHIND THE CANDELABRA so that comment is not meritable. If you did, you would have known that film was NOT a bio about Liberace but a film about his 6 year relationship with Scott Thorson. A Broadway musical adaptation would obviously NOT be based on this HBO film.
Now, there WERE 2 (two) bio films covering Liberace's life that were done for television in the late 80s, the most notable one is the one that starred Victor Garber as Liberace:
I thought BEHIND THE CANDELABRA was brilliant, loved every second of it, would love to see what a great writing team could do with this, it doesn't immediately scream musical to me (like say, Soderbergh's other project MAGIC MIKE, which I believe he wants to turn into a musical does) save for the Liberace numbers but then again I didn't think GREY GARDENS or LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA were natural ideas for a musical. I know Garber is not a fan of the 8-shows-a-week routine in his later years but how I'd love to see him in one more great musical role on Broadway.
Is there a bootleg available yet?

The article reads like Mr. Reidel had no topic for the week, but he had to turn in X number of words anyway, so this is what he brought forth.
This is a really lame piece of work--even for the Post.
There is no there there.
