I'm pretty sure that that whisper at the end of Another Pyramid in Aida is actually a page turn or someone taking a page off their music stand. Either way, I hear it every time now.
You may know what you need but to get what you want better see that you keep what you have.
Oh, I'm go glad I'm not the only one who noticed multiple Nathans, was confused by Stresiand's "We're going home" and heard various cleared throats all over the place.
I think I can add one, though maybe it's just bad composition. On the cast recording of The Spitfire Grill, during Caleb's part in Come Alive Again, the actor playing Caleb either hits some really wrong notes on "What does it take for a man to feel some pride?" or his vocal line and the orchestrations have some serious dissonance going on. Always bugs me.
on the original la cage recording during i am what i am theres an audio change right before he goes into the life first life's not worth a damn part. It sounds almost like the beginning was recorded seperatelyand on a different microphone

Again, where does a phone ring durin g Popular....
it sounds like the music in Aida's Another Pyramid....
"I think Harvey [Fierstein] wishes he were a black woman. I say he's the largest black woman in the show. I wish Harvey were straight, cuz I'd do him in a minute. I like big burly mother f***ers like him." ~Mary Bond Davis on Harvey Fierstein Thanks to Mistress @ spouzic.com
the cell phone rings right after "frank analysis", just listen very carefully and u will hear it. The first time I listened to it I heard it and people thought I was crazy!!! I am SOOO EXCITED someone else heard it!!!
AND I also noticed that Bernadette Peters ends "Anything You Can Do" with "Yes, I Can't" instead of "Yes, I Can".. I noticed that too!! I LOVE THIS FOURM!!!!!
I seriously don't hear it - other than the bells during the song - which repeat

"So If you care to find me, look to the western sky, as someone told me lately everyone deserves a chance to fly!"
Right after "everyone deserves a chance to fly" it sounds almost as if someone says "weee" really quickly...like half a second. I dunno if its Idinas breathing but don't they usually take out the big breathing sounds in editing? Its not quiet but its pretty fast. It almost reminds me of the sound in the game "Snood". Anyway, is anyone with me?
PM me or leave a post if you hear it...i wanna know if im sane

ok i wasn't sure...but wouldn't they take that out?
I know on many other CD's they edit out the singers breathing...
Sometimes when i see shows the one major difference from it live and the recording is that i can here them breathing, especially during or after dancing...

About the thing in "Popular". It IS NOT a cell phone. I think it's an actual instrument meant to do that. I think it's the keyboardist. I've heard a keyboard make that sound before, so I really think it's the keyboard. Or it could be a synthesizer? or not... In any case, it's def. not a cell phone.
I just starting reading this thread, and I just want to let you know that every time I listen "Not Me" on the Aida Cast Recording I hear my mother calling me name. I thought it was just me and I was going insane, I don't even listen to that song anymore...
Yeah, about "Popular"...I just listened to it again. If you keep listening, it does that sound again after the next two lines. The keyboard's on the strings mode.
In the London recording of "The Baker's Wife" in the song, "Buzz-A-Buzz" it seems like whenever the ensemble has to sing somthing fast, noone can either remember the words or get the rhythm. Its really annoying, it just sounds like a mesh of words.
On the Aida recording, after the end of "Another Pyramid" if you turn the volume up you can hear somebody saying "so good" after the last note cuts off.
"Company OBC, "Company" during the long "We LOVE...................................you" section. There is a man singing the most foul wrong-note and then he can't hold it and drops out half way through."
I think that's Elaine Stritch and I believe instead of dropping out, the sound engineer turns down her mike.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
Just a couple notes, I'm with everyone on the Mom calling my name! Everytime on 5th Dimensions' "Aquarius" a couple of times during the song between the Aquairuses I hear my mom calling "Amanda!"
And on the note of using different sound mixing, the best example I know is from the Muppet Movie where Kermit and Rowlf sing the duet "You Can't Live With Them." Jim Henson provides the voice for both Kermit and Rowlf and the song is two different sounds of Jim Henson singing. It's pretty cool I think, considering the time.
"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli
Theres a patch in 'Weekend in the country' in A Little Night Music, where she completely messes up teh phrasing because of teh words not fitting with teh music.....led to quite uncomfortable moments.
In the "Company" OBC, Pamela Meyers sings a couple of wrong notes in "Another Hundred People" (the "by the" in "by the rusty fountains and the dusty trees..."). Phew. I thought I was cracking up when I heard two Nathan Lanes singing at the beginning of "Along Came Bialy..."
my "mother calling" moment is during the money song from avenue q
