I made this post before and I can't find it...
But, on the Original Broadway Cast Recording of West Side Story someone keeps opening and shutting a door during the music where Tony is being carried out... it kinda ruins the moment.
LSOH - I Found a Hobby, one of them sings "I found a hobby" at the same time the other is singing "out in the lobby"
Sound of Music - In So Long, Farewell you can hear multiple voices on all of the kids solos...
I think I may have had more, but I can't remember.
Is Idina not supposed to laugh on the RENT CD?? I think it sounds fine.

In the Carousel revival recording at Lincoln center there is this weird 'light crash' or instrument sound before Julie goes into the first chorus of "If I Loved You". Anyone with me?
I might be mistaken but on the HAIRSPRAY OBCR during the song "Timeless to Me," I think I can hear Dick Latessa grunt or clear his throat after he says the words "joy buzzer."
I hear it every time I listen to the song.
Is it a mistake in "You Did It" in the Original Cast My Fair Lady, where Higgins says:
"Thank Heavens for Zoltan Karparthy. If he hadn't been there I'd have died of boredom."
then there's a pause and he says:
"Yes. He was there, all right, and up to his old tricks"
And then Pickering (I think) says:
"Karparthy? That dreadful Hungarian? Was he there?"
I always thought those last 2 lines should be switched, but maybe not, since it seems like someone would have fixed it if that was wrong.
Anyone know?

They are supposed to say I found a hobby AND out in the lobby together
I thought her laugh works, too. - I mean, Mimi just came back to life!
I don't know if this counts as a cast recording (or even if you guys will know who these guys are) but on the Irish Tenors abulm live from Belfast, Anthony Kern screws up the words at least three times in as many different songs. It's driven me crazy for years!!!

I'M NOT EXACTLY 100% SURE SO DON'T YELL IF I'M WRONG BUT...:
In 'Popular' from Wicked, when Kristin is singing "Don't be offended by my frank analysis", if you listen, you can hear a cell phone ring in the background. I think it's a cell phone because it's a RING unless there are instruments that do that....
"In the OBCR of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, George Hearn made a goof in the song "With You on My Arm". After the line "On you it look graaaaaaaaaand", he starts to sing "Even the dead of winter can feel like July" instead of "Somehow you put a permanent star in my eye."
Damn you, castalbumfan!! You took mine!

Another sloe eyed vamp, the lines in MFL as performed on the OCR are how they are written in the script. But your point is well-made.
Not a mistake, per se, but Jerry Ohrbach's continual off-pitch singing on cast recordings (The Fantasticks, Promises, Promises) is enough to make the baby Jesus cry.
But isn't the emphasis on "was HE there?" making the sentence less about asking a question that has already been answered, and more about the character expressing disdain for the fact that Karpathy was present.
Jerry Orbach rocks... and you think you could at least have a little respect for a man who just died.

Haha, a wee little humor for a Saturday afternoon..
One the Annie Get Your Gun revival recording, Bernadette ends "Anything You Can Do" with "Yes I Can't" instead of
"Yes I Can."

I can't believe no ne mentioned the famous dropped drum stick during the Overture on the GYPSY original cast recording. It happens during the "Small World" section. It was barely audible on the original LP, but quite noticable when it first came out on CD. Later editions of the CD edited it out.

Re: Brooklyn, on a serious note though.
Eden is flat all over the place. I like listening to it because every time a new note will jump out and make me cringe. I highly suggest it.
Why would Maureen's laugh WORK during the Finale? They just watched a friend die, and come back to life, she whispers, "Oh, my God!" and GIGGLES? That doesn't make sense at all!

Is not Adam's "Will Forget" in Enchantment (Aida)a mistake?

Brdwybaby17, your comment reminds me of an anecdote about Mike Todd, the hard-driving businessman, film-and-deal maker, married to Elizabeth Taylor, who died in an airplane crash. When one of his rivals heard about Todd's death, he muttered, "Well, he was a son-of-a-bitch when he got on the plane."
In other words, one honors the memory of a man by honestly describing him for what he was in life, not by painting a falsely sentimental portrait of him in death.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Streisan's stereo OBC recording of FUNNY GIRL. While not a "mistake," in Cornet Man, as she nears the end of the recording, she yells out, "We're goin' home." I understand that this was the last track recorded at the end of a long, grueling session. It was late, and everyone was tired. La Babs knew the cut was THE one, and she wanted everyone in the studio do know they were finished. Anyhow, it's a human touch to the spontaneous qualities of live theatre and theatre recordings.

Jose', that's great! I always wondered what that was about.
brdlwyr, Adam's "will forget" isn't a mistake...
at the very end of "another pyramid" in aida, if you listen, after the music stops, there's a faint whisper. i don't know what it says, but it's there...listen to it.
