Yeah. Actually, they thought that many people might not think that Mark was talking about the New York town of Hicksville rather than a generic term for a place where hicks live.
Haha. I thought they were talking about the NY town Hicksville. When Mark said it, I was like huh? I don't get it. I have friends who live in Hicksville and they're pretty normal.

neddyfrank2, I believe that the part you're talking about in "I'm the Bravest Individual" is actually Oscar (played by Denis O'Hare) reacting vocally to hearing the word "trapped."
On the Company OBC.
I don't know if it was a mistake or if it was changed since the original scripting, but in Getting Married Today she goes:
"Pardon me is everybody HERE because if everybody's HERE..."
instead of using the word THERE. Was that a mistake or the original lyric?

Somebody drops a cane during The Drowsy Chaperone so you can't tell if Beatrice Stockwell is saying "Live while you can" or "Leave while you can."
I'm sorry. I couldn't resist.
The most glaring one to me is the "Finale Ultimo" on the OBC of South Pacific. This must have been the "original" ending or something. Ironically, I think it works better than the lackluster and pathetic one they have with eating soup and no reprise of S.E.E.
On the original London recording of "My Fair Lady" Julie Andrews audibly sniffles during "Just You Wait."
On the OCR of "On The Twentieth Century" you can hear Madeline Kahn start to lose her voice during "Veronique," a problem that contributed (in part) to her early departure from the show.
And since no one addressed this question from way back in the thread: yes, Babs does crack at the end of "Don't Rain On My Parade" on the "Funny Girl" OCR.
Decca Broadway's unbelievable cast member mistake for Spring Awakening. Oh my, how could they have missed that?
RE: SOUTH PACIFIC
The finale on the OBCR was created for the album using the reprise of "Dites Moi" to segueinto the late act One reprise of :"Some Enchanted Evening." (It starts with the verse "Born on the opposite sides of the sea...")
R & H liked this so much they used it again in the RCA Victor album of the movie cast (NOT a soundtrack - it is not taken from the film at all), and the same idea was later used on Columbia's 1967 Lincoln Centre cast and on CBS MAsterwork's mis-cast studio album with Kiri Te Kanawa.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
Helo All
I'm not too sure if this one's been mentioned or not, but...
SWEENEY TODD (OBC)
Len Cariou interjects, "If it's for a price." to the "lawyer" bit and in the 2006 Revival Cast Recording, Michael Cerveris says, "IT IS for a price."
Just thought I'd pass that along.
I don't remember if he said it during/in the actual production, but yeah, it's on the cast album!
Best,

Bernadette Peters Annie Get Your Gun
Laura Benanti flubs a couple of lyrics on the Into the Woods revival album, most notably the line that should be "Down from the eaves and the leaves/Over fields/Out of castles and ponds" in the Prologue. She says "out of the eaves..." and then sings a combination of "out of" and "over," coming out with "Oh-vuv castles and ponds."
On the Hello, Dolly! OBC in Put on Your Sunday Clothes, a neasure before Carol Channing is about to say, "Ermengarde stop sniveling..." you can hear her say, "Er," and then stop. Haha.
In regards to So. Pac:
I agree with R&H that it is a far better ending. It has life to it, and logic. The other does not. I just wonder why they never inserted this ending into the play instead. If I were directing the revival on broadway (which I know doesn't exist) it would be the first change I would demand.
Has anyone else noticed the weird sound on "Come Out of the Dumpster" on The Wedding Singer OBC? During his first attempt to get out of the dumpster, there is this really strange sound that is supposed to be him falling back into it, but sounds very close to the mic and mechanical. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
What's the Spring Awakening mistake?

In Decca Broadway's first printing, they did not credit Jonathan B. Wright as Hanschen, instead putting in the name of the guy who did it at the Lincoln Center Concert two years ago.
From an MD's point of view, there are a lot of sloppy moments on the Spring Awakening CD, particularly with the ensemble numbers. Most egregious is the Mama Who Bore Me reprise -- littered with the girls coming in on 'Mama' at various times. The end result is a weird "M-m-ma-m-m-m-m-m-a" that sounds more like an echo chamber than an ensemble.
Don't get me wrong, I'm as much an SA cheerleader as you'll find -- but I'm keen on a clean sound... I'll give them credit, they're better at it live. Were they not conducted at the recording session?
In the PTO recording from the film version, in Think of Me Emmy's voice cracks pretty badly on the "my" in "remember me trying to hard to put you from MY mind"
I might be wrong, but i'm pretty sure the "how do you turn this off?" thing on the Spelling Bee recording is intentional.

I agree with jaybird about the girls comming in at various times on the Mamma Who Bore Me reprise. That happens numorous times and slightly of annoys me(I dont know why though). Another thing about the Spring Awakening album, I dont know if this is a mistake or just how Lea Michele sings it but the last time she sings, "No sleep in heaven", in Mamma Who Bore Me, the "en" is really delaid. I LOVE the album though it does have its sloppy, in my opinion, faults.

I don't know if they've been said yet, but in "Another Hundred People" on the Company OBCR, she sings "And they meet at parties through the friends of friends who they never know." On every sheet music I've seen for the song it says "hardly know" and it's just grammatically correct that way.
Another one I found was on the Producers cast recording on "Along Came Bialy" when Nathan sings, "So romantic, they were frantic" before he goes to Little Old Lady Land it sounds like two voices on "they were frantic."
on the Evita London Revival.
during "don't cry for me argentina" the last instrumental section. on the last phrase, the orchestra doesn't come in together, and they don't really stay together. it really bothers me.
I always hear an obnoxious alien-like voice in "ugg-a-wugg" in Peter Pan during the repeat of "ipity-bipity-bipity-bipity SAB" (pardon the wrong lyrics).
It stands out sooo much!
"The very first time I listened to the "Phantom" OLCR, during the introduction to "Music of the Night," the same thing happened to me. Mind you, it was also 12.30 at night. But, right after the Phantom sings "For one purpose, and one alone," I swear, I heard someone (sounding like my mother) yelling, "Laura!" Freaky."
My name is Lauren, and I've heard my mother calling me during songs...probably even during that song.
What's up with the mother calling in songs? I heard it in Run Freedom Run too (post was like on page 3 or 4).
In the Angela Lansbury GYPSY overture the playing is very sloppy and there are mistakes in the famous section where the trumpets blare forth near the end of the overture. They should have re-recorded it. RCA, who recorded this GYPSY, is not as careful as Columbia when it comes to making original cast albums. In the most recent digital re-mastering of the OBCR of GYPSY with Ethel Merman, Columbia digitally corrected a few wrong notes by the orchestra from the original tapes of the day's recording session which contained multiple takes. This Columbia recording also used an alternate take of "All I Need Is The Girl" which has Louise laughing with enjoyment as she dances with Tulsa. The digital re-mastering of shows from the "Golden Age" has made me duplicate my vinyl LP's and cassettes to CD's. The improved sound makes it worthwhile.
