I really like monopoly and its subculture replete with some of our most enduring icons: Boardwalk, Get Out Of Jail Free, Go Directly to Jail, Rich Uncle Pennybags (I had to look up his name but we all recognize him), Free Parking, and the whole Atlantic City connection.
The problem with Clue is that you need at least 3 players.

Maybe it can be performed along side the previously announced 'Apprentice-The Musical'

Clearly the next Hamilton and should utilize the same style:
How does a simple board game from the Great Depression
Get all the way to Broadway to make a big impression?
A man with top hat, stache, and a shaggy dog
Travels across the Caribbean in a heavy fog.
Becomes the thimble of his country as he starts to earn
Feelin' guilty, becomes a Socialist when he feels the Bern
But the greed is overpowering
The money all empowering
So again he rolls the dice, cause --
I'm not gonna miss my turn!
I'm not gonna miss my turn!
I'm not gonna miss my turn!
Feel free to add verses. We can all split 1% of this musical about One Percenters.
Substitute Get out of jail card free for a card saying get a set of universal raves
I hope they make it all gritty and real. It would have to be at least 4 hours long and doesn't end until there's one member of the cast who "wins" by being the only one who didn't give up and leave to go watch TV.
It's real?

I usually am one who does not wish a show or concept ill will even if I don't plan to see it. But this is an exception. This sounds like a genuinely horrible idea and I hope it is never unleashed onto humanity. These resources should go to other things.
And I'm one of the few adults who actually LIKES the boardgame.
A real monopoly would be better than a monopoly musical

If it's a gritty human drama about a family being torn apart after a particularly ugly game of Monopoly, I'm all for it.

I'm curious about how you would go about making this work. You could use the original inspiration for the game but while you could maybe make a musical about robber barons work, putting it through the lens of Monopoly kind of screams "flop." I can already hear what the music from that show would sound like and it's just itching for a spot in the next installment of If It Only Even Runs a Minute. The best show I can imagine in this vein is just a rip off of Ragtime.
It's much more likely that they'll go for something more fun and commercial but this quote from the Variety article “What turns us on is creating something that explores the world of Monopoly, kind of like the Lego movies have done with Legos.” makes no sense because there is no world of Monopoly. It's not like The Lego Movie or Seussical or even Clue. As others have said, who are the characters?

Thank you for literally the only laugh of a bad day.
Best pun I read from a different source: "History has its die on you."
Yeah... seems a weird idea. Would there be a main protagonist whose journey consisted of ruthlessly overcharging rent and gleefully bankrupting all the other characters? I can't see an audience getting behind that. Maybe if the show acknowledged the lead's awfulness, as in How To Succeed... but then why would Hasbro want to endorse a show that metaphorically portrayed successful Monopoly players (monopolisers?) as jerks. ...I'm probably already taking this idea more seriously than it deserves.

Right? Legos is a terrible comparison. The whole point of Legos is you can use your imagination to make anything you want. So they could've turned just about any plot into a Lego movie by making the characters and setting Legos.
Lesli Margharita already posted that she hoped they call her in for a role other than 'community chest'. So, this is real?
