"And "Mamma Mia" is proof of how on-location shooting can really create a beautiful piece of visual art."
Way to state the obvious. Someone who has nothing to say really has mental issues. Seek help.
You poor baby.
Still pissed Marshall didn't cast you as a dancer in CHICAGO even after you offered sexual favors?
Must be hard...especially while his success will always overshadow your failure.

Who said anything about Rob Marshall, easily the greatest living director of cinema? Goodness, you are touchy today.

If only ROB MARSHALL was directing the film of PASSING STRANGE!! We'd have a work of art that would bring about the Rapture itself!
Well the original Fellini film had a lot of "production-esque" scenes. Although, there are some really intimate and personal scenes. And I'm sorry, but if any actor can really sink his teeth into a role and make something brilliant out of it, it's Daniel Day.
Well, inevitably there will need to be scenes on a soundstage...this being about Guido shooting a movie and all. But, there is real opportunity to showcase some of Italy's gorgeous scenery, especially with Venice.
I'm not saying it all has to be shot there. But, I would love for at least a small amount of filming to be on-location. "Memoirs of a Geisha" was partly shot in Japan and partly shot in California. So...we'll see that happens.
best12bars (greatest double entendre screename) you are really obsessed with long legged scantily clad women, huh? (hiccup)
Who, me? Seriously?? Um, no.
...but the majority of the guys who buy movie tickets today are, in case you just woke up.
EDIT: And you might want to do something about that drinking problem.
Looks like Hudson has officially joined the cast

"Looks like Hudson has officially joined the cast"
I know there's been all this talk about Kate Hudson but for some reason, after I read that headline, I thought "What? Jennifer Hudson is doing another movie musical for her next film?!!"

You ARE aware she's in SEX AND THE CITY: The Movie, right?

Yes, and I'm aware that she has "Winged Creatures" coming out along with the "Secret Life of Bees". I just meant another musical so soon. In any case, I don't care if all she did were musicals. "Kate Hudson" and "musicals" just aren't the two words I would associate with each other.
Seriously? There are people who oppose Daniel Day-Lewis? He's one of the most phenomenal actors to have ever lived.
Why not Banderas? He is a known start & was in the original?
Who will pay Chita's part? I would love her to do it but she is not a name so that sinks her in all probability.
I think Judi Dench has the agent's part? Not completely sure.
She isn't his agent, she's the producer of Guido's new movie. Judi Dench is indeed playing the role.
I also thought of Jennifer Hudson...took me a second to realize it was Kate Hudson.
Who's left for Hudson to play?
Isn't she going to be playing Stephanie Necrophorus ?
She's going to play a journalist. Apparently Yeston wrote a new number for the character.
So the role wasn't in the stage show?
No, the way the press release made it sound is that there is a new character, an "in vogue" journalist who will be leading a big production number called "Cinema Ultimo" I believe.
Stephanie Necrophorus is a critic-turned-producer who hates Guido's work. I'm not sure if the role has been re-written as an "in vogue" journalist, or if it's not there anymore, or if the press release simply is misleading. We'll see. I was hoping they'd get a theater actress for Necrophorus, it'd have been a good role for Donna Murphy or one of the gals from the revival or the original production like Laura Benanti, Kathi Moss, Mary Stuart Masterson, etc.
I'm sure Donna could land that role. She has some film credits.
Well, Kate Hudson's mom had some talent in the singing department, so you never know
I just think Hudson is too American for NINE, unless, as I said earlier in this thread, she is indeed playing an obnoxious American paparazzi. The kind of comedy she does would definitely fit with that kind of role. We'll see. I'd love to see what her singing voice is like, didn't she sing for like a second in ALMOST FAMOUS? I remember loving her in that...then I saw the rest of her movies.
Ljay, I think Donna's wonderful acidic delivery in FOLLIES would work wonders for a character like Stephanie Necrophorus. It'd be awesome if she were to be in this film.
